Exactly. I hate it when people confuse the medium for one of its more commonly known genres. I mean it's kinda like saying you don't like movies because action movies don't appeal to you. Which is not to say that people "can't" take in certain media.

else. That just makes it easier to lose more and more of oneself. Of
course, they thought I was just being a fanboy for saying I wouldn't
give up comics for a woman."
Agreed. While there's always some give and take in any relationship, especially if it's one where the parties live together (AND where the amount of space may be limited), there is something inherently wrong if you can't either a) share your interest with your partner or b) have your partner respect your having that interest.

Need to get that one at some point. Absolutely love my Complete Calvin & Hobbes box set (nice HC edition in awesome oversized format).

entitled to an advocate is how one can represent he worst of the
worst. Not because you think this person specific deserves help -- but
because every person does."
I'm sure it'd please you to know that the Swedish word for lawyer is *drum roll* advokat!
Oh, and huge congrats, William and best of luck.

Well, I do think you sell yourself short, Arc. It may well be that drawing isn't your primary talent, but the one you posted certainly doesn't hurt the eyes. And it does communicate something. Hard to tell from a single image whether you'd manage to move along comics style, i.e. full on layout and storytelling on the page... but the style in and of itself would, I think, certainly work for. So, if you have a talent for writing, and that much talent for drawing, maybe you should at least try your hand at the medium... Just a thought.

Joakim: I love comics and there is nothing in life I'd love more than to create comics. But I've talked with Tom Brevoort and he made it clear that creatively I'm not up to it ("keep trying, and don't give up", he said). And artistically I still have thousands of things to learn. So at least for now it is all a fantasy, albeit a nice one.

Well, you might not be ready for the professional comics market, Arc, or the mainstream superhero gist of it – and as I stated, the one image makes it hard to judge what with it not saying how good a grasp you had of visual layout of a comics page or the storytelling which is the essential bit... nor does the single image of course tell whether you'd be able to repeat likenesses in characters, etc – BUT it seems that Brevoort's statement suggests that while you're not there, it's not excluded that you could get there.
Besides, I'm not sure your style would be one I'd say was primarily suited to superhero storytelling. I'd much rather see you produce some everyday tales about everyday people. Might not be the broadest, mainstream market. Might not even be a commercially good option, but if you want to tell stories using the medium of comics, I do think you could definitely try your hand in that area. Granted of course that the less commercial nature probably means you shouldn't leap in it to make money. And even face the fact that reaching an audience might be harder, though a web page and web publication might of course get you a reading audience.
It's all depending on what you want out of it, of course. But trying your hand at it and working on it, would presumably help you get better at it. I do believe in the notion of talent, but even talent (and especially depending on its degree) may benefit or well need both practice and a deepened understanding of the art and medium.
Just saying... Hopefully for your benefit.

Joakim : thank you for your words.
I think Brevoort is always nice to people so it's hard to think he meant that as a compliment. But it was about writing, he's never seen my sketches.
I got in touch with Brevoort by mail after I asked CB Cebulski when would Marvel plan to do a talent search for writers. They do it all the time but just for artist, and it's artists who approach Marvel most of the time. Seems like it's much harder for writers to get into the comics industry.
