You're a "guy's gal", Jodi.  That's why I loves ya!

Sorry if this busts up the action of the last few posts
but I've been wondering: Tom posted few pictures of his
and his husband's trip to San Francisco -- including a
shirtless shot.

Been wondering ... Tom, or anybody else, who's got a
beach bod ... how do you handle excess body hair? I'm
turning 50 next year and my gift to myself is to be in
better shape than I was at 30 -- going for a six pack
even!

Another reason for the decision to get fit-looking is
that my best bud is getting married in Barbados next year
and I'm her best man (bridesman's?) and I wouldn't put it
past her to make it a bathing suit ceremony.

Won't be able to see a six pack through my normal
folliage. Can't bring myself to do like that fool in the
40 Year Old Virgin and get my chest hair ripped out by
the roots. Using a shaving razor sounds extreme. Forget
electrolysis; that'll cost more than my gym membership
for the year.

I've been looking at depilatory products, the kind of
stuff chicks use for bikini lines. I would have to use a
gallon of that gunk and who the hell knows what'll do to
my chest?

Suggestions?

Jesus shaving the day of the event sounds the best, do you have someone that can help you with it?  Do you have back hair too or just chest hair?

When did men decide they wanted to go hairless, because I always though a hairy chest was kind of hot.

Everybody thanks for the welcome back.

Tom I LOVE to play poker, we used to play about once a week when Jonathan was around and growing up, my parents had a weekly poker game with some friends of theirs.  Growing up we played penny/nickle/dime poker, but the boys loved playing Texas Holdem,  the buy-in was usually around 2 bucks. I hate playing a cash game unless it is in Vegas.

Does anyone on here play Euchre? That is my favorite card game to play. I am finding it to be a mostly Indiana game though.

Jodi -- somehow, surviving in a family of men, I suspected that you'd played a round or two.  But I wonder about another...?

We went to Eric's nephew's graduation party last month where they played a game we used to call "Pitch & Toss."  I'd compare it to horseshoes, because that's the closest, except one throws bean bags toward a target that has a hole in it.  If the bag goes in, point, etc.

They name it -- embarrassingly enough -- "Cornhole."  And say ridiculous straight-boy-isms when someone makes a point.  "You got cornholed!" etc.

When asked, they said this game came from the mid-west.  Is that true????

Jesus -- for the record, I'm a mountain gorilla when it comes to bodyhair.  Seriously -- it's disgusting.  You might as well call me Silver Razorback for my superhero name, you know?

I also am blessed with very sensitive skin, so anytime I shave (or worse, wax) horrible things happen.

In the last few years, I finally gave up the battle for smooth -- my hubby (and the vast majority of guys I know) LIKES my hairy chest.

Still, here's the word for you: MAN-SCAPING.  Go buy yourself a nice buzz trimmer (I seriously recommend the one you'd buy for pets -- it's built to handle a lot of fur, unlike the pretty-boy Gillette models.)  and get busy.  It's not unlike taking care of a lawn.  If it gets too long, you trim it out.  You can go really short or moderately long, whatever looks best to you.  (And if you f*ck up, like the hair on your head, it grows back.)  Eric does my back for me (at #0) and I keep my front at a #3, legs, too.

I find neat, well-groomed body hair is far more attractive on a man than either shaved like plucked poultry or.... if I may be so bold... a razorback gorilla.

Two things the Army taught me were Spades and Euchre. Anyone who has been in the Army and tells you they didn't learn at least one of these games, certainly didn't have my MOS.

Love them both. Don't get to play much anymore though.

Welcome back, Jodi. It ain't the same without ya.

Not that I'm anything hairy like Tom (mmmmm) my legs are gorilla legs, and
I fully recommend and support what Tom says regarding a trimmer/clippers.
It's just the best way to go. I don't mind having hair on my legs, but I feel so
much better when it's shorter.

Jodi:

Some back hair. Not sexy. I grew up with women who
thought Sean Connery was hot because of his body hair. My
wife is 16 younger and she is of the generation that
definitely prefers smooth men. She wouldn`t mind mowing
my lawn if I asked. She`s already suggested going the
waxing route which I suspect sheds some light on a
repressed sadistic area of her brain.

Tom:

Thanks for the advice. I hadn`t thought of a trimmer.
Your avatar makes you look, from the back, baby-bum
smooth.

Just a body hair story for grins....

My buddy in high school had an electric trimmer/clipper he used to keep his hair trimmed...I was bored on day while he was chatting some girl up on the phone.  I lifted his clipper and made an experimental pass on my shin...trimmed a nice neat patch...Hmmm...I went ahead and trimmed all the way around to the calf muscle, creating a ring...I then made more...creating a series of stripes all the way up my leg..."damn. He's still on the phone."  I started to work on the other leg...added challenge level...Checkerboard...I maintained the look for about a month...lot's of fun in gym.
