In the quiet words of the Virgin Mary, "come again?"

What on Earth has that guy been smoking?  We've got pure genes?  As opposed to what?  And what the heck is a dirty gene anyway?

Besides, I didn't know Americans were allowed to marry outside our species.

If that wouldn't make the ban on gay marriage more ludicrous than it already is, I don't know what would.

Well, apparently you could blame yourself.  ;)
But it seems perhaps more fruitful to deconstruct that world and build a better one.

But I can sympathise with things getting set and living on.  I developed early emotionally, but wasn't a fair youngster by any means (a chubby li'l critter). Always rejected, and we're still talking really young.

Since I got my first relationship between 1992 and 1993 (incidentally, my shortest one), I've not really been single more than some 5-6 months in a stretch. Add to that some added interest from some people during and in between... and tell me how logical my ever present conclusion that I'm not really an attractive force of any kind really is.
Inside, I'm still that rejected kid. Despite all evidences to the contrary.

Marc, I don't think Tim suggested that low self-esteem guys can't also be nice guys.  Merely that there needs to be a distinction between the two categories in the sense that  a) not all low self-esteem guys are nice guys, and b) not all nice guys are low self-esteem guys.  Neither of which, at least to my mind, excludes the possibility of a low self-esteem guy being a nice guy or vice versa.

What?  Talley's holding back on the belly rubbing, is he?  Cheap!

I can sympathize. I am not an attractive guy. And no one really gets interested in me. That's why the closest thing to a boyfriend I've had was in high school, like 8 years ago, and it's a relationship that ended very badly. Ever since I've sort of stopped trying and although I never get used to the idea of being always alone I feel like I have no other choice really, at least not in this forsaken country which I love and hate in equal measure.

I know it sounds silly but you often find someone when you're NOT looking.
It happened to me.

Today we took the first step towards marriage. We went to the US Embassy here in Mexico City. A good friend of ours works there and helped us get our signatures notarized on our solicit of "Marriage License" sheet.
