I wish we would get to a point that what adults do in their private lives, as long as it's not illegal, falls under the heading of private.

I think what we can all agree on is that anyone who cannot faithfully execute his marriage vows had best keep his mouth shut about the sanctity of marriage!

Amen, Brother Gibson! As Wallace so astutely noted, it's usually the people who crow the loudest about morality who turn out to be the snakes.

But as far as this Sanford debacle goes, what concerns me even more than the infidelity (at least from a practical standpoint) is the fact he went AWOL for five or six days. No one - not his staff, not his family - could get in touch with him.

I think he should resign immediately. If you are the Governor of a state, you can't abandon your post. As many cracks as people made about Jesse Ventura being unqualified for the job, even he never just vanished for a week. It's an unpardonable offense, I believe.
