Al,

I love babies! LOVE LOVE LOVE babies. And children just make for a
brighter life all around. But after a few minutes cuddling a baby or playing
with a young child, I am nothing but eternally grateful for the opportunity to
hand it back to mum or dad!!! Also, the idea of parenting, and having to
know where and what your child is doing 24/7 absolutely terrifies me.

I think about it sometimes. Not any real desire though.

I would like to ask a question of our str8 buddies: if you could have a
bromance with any male celebrity (non-sports figure) whom would you
choose/find yourself drawn to?

these, to me, are the main reason i don't feel like being a parent anytime soon.

Jodi: I just saw it. And I saw the Red Sonja pony and the others. Really good work.

Easy. Neil Patrick Harris.

Because he's awesome.

Seriously, he seems very genuine and genuinely funny. He's an extremely talented individual who I think would mesh well with my somewhat introverted personality. Just like his character on How I Met Your Mother, I think he would make a great wing-man(mostly because I wouldn't be competing with him for the ladies).
Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to reciprocate. I don't know how to talk to guys without competing on some level, and that just doesn't work if I'm trying to set someone up.

I will be a father someday. I will likely adopt, since I feel that it's a tragedy that we have so many kids stuck in the foster care system. I've practically been the father to my siblings, so I know what I'm getting into.

I've never thought about becoming a father. My life is pretty much a mess right now. Last time I was in love with someone was 7 years ago. I haven't dated since before that. I'm in college studying the most useless career in the world. To be a father is the last thing I could think about.

I am a father -- I have two beautiful dogs!  And if that doesn't count, I have 810 students that I spend more time of day with than their actual fathers.

Would I like to be an real dad?  Sure, but I sincerely doubt it's going to happen.  I'm happy with my dogs and my hubby.  I fully support gay parents, tho.

Thanks Arc and David .

Tom you are exactly why I love great teachers. You think of those kids as your own, I am sure a percentage have, not so great dads and you have given them a truly wonderful male role model.

I also fully support gay parents and wish it was easier and was possible in every state. We would have a lot less screwed up kids if they did. My aunt works in the welfare/foster care program and the nightmare stories she tells us is so sad.
