As always... SO SO SO CUTE! I know I have asked you this question once before, but I've been going through one of those elongated "low" periods and wouldn't mind being cheered up by your answer again: what kind of impact/joy/etc. has having the little guy in your life done for you?
Marc, it can't be measured. As you all know, Michael was born four months after the accident. To be blunt, helped me keep my sanity. The love I get from him is amazing. The way he reaches up to hold my hand when we go for a walk. The way he doesn't want to let go when I drop him off at day care in the morning, holding onto my leg like he's afraid someone is going to sell him to the Gypsies. And when I pick him up in the afternoon, when he's in another room, he hears me come in and in the distance I hear "Pa-paw!!!" and he comes running out and again grabs onto that leg and squeezes the dickens out of it. The warm fuzzies I get when we sit together and watch Wonder Pets, Fairly OddParents, Spongebob, Backyardigans, iCarly, and all that other good stuff on Nickelodeon. At night he will wake up and I hear him call me from his bed. I get him and bring him in with me and he gets as close as he can and goes back to sleep. You just can't beat that. We go to the library and then to a playground almost every Saturday morning. On Sundays we go to the Mariners Museum and walk along Lake Maury and the James River. Seeing him discover new things almost daily is amazing. He loves trucks and construction equipment. His appreciation of animals is strong. He loves music. The other day, "Low Rider" by WAR came on radio in the car. He heard it and said "Pa-Paw! George Lopez show!" I almost busted a gut laughing. He has learned that McDonalds is where Happy Meals come from, so every road thrip there ia a request for a Happy Meal. His cool factor is off the charts, and he is truly a blessing.
Quite simply....he is my best friend.

My little brother received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence today. I am so very proud of him. He's a hard worker, always does his best to help others, and is obsessed with his Hot Wheels collection. (Don't try passing Matchbox off on him. It's subpar says he.) Oh, and he wants to be a lawyer when he grows up.
I love my siblings. Every day I feel so proud of them, how far they've come and look forward to their futures.

Brian, what you wrote was incredible. He's a lucky little guy to have a grandpa like you. Not to mention he's cute as a button.
Edit: And yeah, I got a tear in my eye when I read it. Describes how I feel about my daughters to a tee. And man do I love me some Spongebob.

Brian, count me in the Al and
Jodi line. Moist eyes over here as well, in other words. And I so
happy for you, and that the fates would provide for you in such a
manner as to give some compensation for your terrible loss. Your story
is, simply put, heart warming. Thank you for sharing!
And William, a real li'l cutey pie you've got there. Congrats!
Tom, thanks for introducing me to Betty Bowers. The link to that clip went right up on my FB wall. Good stuff!
