I haven't seen much of Talley or Al, I hope they are all right

I think they are in Maine.

Tom, did you read how Marion Barry said that there would be a "Civil War" if D.C. legalizes gay marriage?

Not supporting the endowing of rights upon people that shouldn't have been denied them in the first place seems really stupid, especially coming from Barry of all people.  The irony is lost.

Geez, Geoff, just because you weren't invited doesn't mean you needed to
spoil our surprise...

In fairness Marion was so high when he said that . . . .

If you wanted it to be a surprise you wouldn't have registered at Neimen Marcus. I bought you guys the Gravy Boat by the way.

Why is Marion Barry considered a newsworthy quote anyway? Outside of D.C., he's considered a laughing stock.

In the paper I read on the Metro this morning, I think he's getting attention because he was the sole vote of dissent and was claiming how even though he supports it, he's voting against it because it's what his constituents want.

Plus Congress needs to approve any laws passed by D.C. however if after 30 days of no action, the law goes into effect automatically.  I'm thinking that's possibly what may happen as some in Congress may not want to be ones to vote in favor of it.

Is Barry still on the City Council?!? Surely, the nation's Capital deserves better representation than him!

It never ceases to amaze me how some discredited, dishonored politicians can keep turning up time and time again, sometimes even getting re-elected.

INSIDE of DC, he is, too!

The only reason Barry dissented was because the only people who still take him seriously in DC are the people of his ward, who mysteriously keep voting him into office.  Not to say Barry hasn't played the part of "set up, wounded, hounded" man well.  Ah, the corruption just stinks off him.

A friend to the gay community?  Just how, exactly, Marion?  By having a girl's name?

A possible caption for that photo: "Now Joe, if anyone asks you any questions about anything, just get a big-ass mouthful of burger like this..."

Maine!  Oh, oh, oh!  This is great.  Now the hot French Canadian guys who come down in the summer will see no reason to boycott!

Yes, it's all about the bottom line, no pun intended.

If you didn't want it, why'd you register for it?

Seriously, it's been said before, but Gay Marriage = People Spending Money On Gifts = Economic Freakin' Recovery.

(And down the road it can also equal people spending money on divorce attorneys...I'm a goddamn romantic, I am)
