Welcome Arc (great name!) to our little cozy, sometimes perverted, always
entertaining corner of the JBF!

Steve, that's a cute story.
I love kids when they're that age. They are still in awe of people and things. That and they are so easy to impress.
Have you ever tried the banana and the needle trick? You stab one with a needle and wiggle it around and repeat every inch or so along the banana. You then bring the banana to the kid and when they open it, it's sliced.
The other one is the bubble trick where you are blowing bubbles. You take a plastic hammer and a bell (which you hide) and when you pop the bubble with the hammer you ring the bell. You let the kid have the hammer but when they pop one it won't make a noise.

Arc, you look a little like that Lex Luthor guy that's always giving me trouble...

My wife appeared on our local public radio station KERA yesterday. The name of the show is Think you can listen here.
She talks about getting kids to be lovers of books.

She sounds kind of sultry, Don -- hot!
I'm listening to the interview right now. I'd like to FWD to our Librarian -- can you spell out the link?

We're having our first anniversary party on May 9th (our anniv is the 10th) -- just a simple pot-luck, grill a-blazin', singin' drunk around the piano, laid back event. Anybody in town and want to swing by -- feel free! We're not going anywhere. We're saving for our week in Provincetown this summer as well as the new bathroom we're installing on the first floor.

Here is the link you can share with teacher friends or librarians...

edited to add quote from Tom so I would look a little less like a shameless huckster.

Oh man I'd love to come to your party Tom!
It's funny (well not really) my buddy George lives in NYC (the one I visited for
X-mas) but he's made it to DC since he has friends in NYC that make it
down there time to time. I noticed some of his friends overlap with yours on
Facebook...small world!
