Unfortunately, I have a job that frowns on that kind of variety, but, I did manage to find a great old school barber that gets it right every time.

I do dress a little more funky away from work.  My daughter recently bought me a great couple of t-shirts...one that reads "Don't hate the payer, Hate the game." which is a saying we say to each other all the time.

My new favorite though is a shirt that says "I grew up on the street" with an image of the Sesame Street Gang in the background..

That's right Grover is my homie.

I remember explaining to my students what a "soul patch" was.  I went through the shaved head period and I suppose I was lucky -- my head didn't have any misshapen dents or askew angles.  On the whole, I like the buzz-cut look, but a fade or high-n-tight works really well on me (makes everyone think I'm a cop).

Marc -- if you REALLY want your wife to enjoy herself, have her shave your head for you.  Let me tell you, a little barber fantasy goes a surprisingly long way!

Don -- I'm curious about what job would frown on a change of look.  Are you undercover?  I have a GREAT barber, too.  For me, there's something extremely masculine about going to the barber shop -- especially when they shave your neck.  Woof!!!

All because Smitty did a doodle that was intended as a joke!

Okay, I probably should have known that, but didn't.  Why does nothing surprise me anymore?

Are there others?  Things that started as jokes and suddenly became canon?

I'm afraid that I'd look more like Uncle Fester than the good Captain (to keep the TV character metaphor going).

But I would win the who has the shorter hair contest we seem to have going currently...(right now she's in the lead).

Not always.  Ask Lex Luthor.  He had great hair, like White Goodman hair, before that infernal Superboy got jealous and had to destroy Lex's lab and experiments making Lex bald at the same time!
