Congratulations TOM AND ERIC!
It looks like you are eating Erics cake or whatever it is he has on his plate, so it's a good thing that the police is there to check up on you.

I'll try to get as many answers in as I can. No, Eric doesn't read comics -- yet! However, he's about halfway through the first NEXT MEN phone book and he's really enjoying it. (His first comment was, "This guy Byrne is an environmentalist, isn't he? Look at this shot of NYC in a hundred years! He clearly sees a bleak future for mankind."
Eric is a real estate agent -- but don't fret! The housing market isn't bad here in DC, ESPECIALLY with the administration change coming in a few months. He's doing surprisingly well. He has been moving a lot of these foreclosed properties, though, claiming it's easier to work with the bank than listing agents.
My cop-buddy IS popular with all the guys, Baptiste, except he's straight (poor thing!). I was HIS best man and am godfather to his two kids. Most of my friends are straight -- I have really only one gay friend (Mike, my bodybuilding/ submission wrestling coach) and he's got designs on my biking buddy Steve (who's straight, but not for long, if Mike has anything to say about it...)

Greg -- knowing I'm going to raise some ire here, I don't know who Greg Proops is, do I? It's funny how often I hear, "You look like someone I know..."
I think I have one of those looks, you know? On the other hand, I spent YEARS touring around the country as a road musician before settling down to teach and have met thousands of people during my travels, so it's possible that I've met everybody!

Mostly I want to say this:
It's -- and there's no other word for it -- heart-warming the response we've gotten from friends, families, co-workers and the general public since we've done this. Heck, even GOD -- we had the only sunny, comfortable day of the week when we exchanged vows after six days of pouring rain (and two days after). I'm surprised and pleased.
And changed.
Thank you, too, my e-friends on this forum (where I spend too much time during the day) for your well-wishes and support. You have no idea what it means to me.

And all the straight marriages around you are crumbling, too, right? Thanks, John!

••
Well, THAT'S happening ANYWAY!
Y'know, the one thing that concerns me about Gay marriage is the extra
burden that you guys will have to bear. I think back to a silly Public
Service ad that used to run on Canadian TV. It was a "Hire the
Handicapped" spot, and it made as its central point the claim that
handicapped workers were better at their jobs. That they worked
harder and were more reliable! I remember thinking Great!
These poor people don't have enough on their plates, now they have to
be &^$&ing supermen!
Being married is a tough enough row to hoe for most people, as the
divorce statistics in this Nation show. Gay marriage will be subject to
even more stringent scrutiny. The Idiot Squad is just dreaming of
those first Gay divorces, so they can shout See! Toldja!!
So, an extra dollop of Good Luck to you guys. (Just try not to scare the
horses, okay?)

Scott -- I waited 43 years for the right guy to come along; that's a LONG audition process, believe me! Keep the faith, buddy -- it'll happen for you, too!!!!!
I just saw the picture of Marc.
And that's not even a good pic of him. Lemme find a better one.
