That's why I love doing the "Jonies"
Right -- and you can "feel" that love in the finished product.

Somehow I heard "show tunes" and I came running to this thread.
I'm not sure what range I have but I can perform all of Sondheim's "Follies." I only discovered it a year ago and now I now every song. Male, female, young , old. How do I sound? No idea.
I'm just a Broadway baby...

I'm a tenor. Sadly, while I'm not a terrible singer, I'm not good enough to make it anywhere with my voice, so I mainly just sing in the shower. I've currently got the music from the Jerry Springer opera fighting with West Side Story for dominance in my head these days.

My partner (who knows far more about music) says I'm a tenor too. I stick to the shower mostly.

I’m damaged... I can never help but hear the Clockwork Orange version of “Singin’ in the Rain” (and it’s not as if I don’t like the original)-
Btw, exactly what’s the hardcore definition of a showtune? Asked in all sincerity.
Jodi wrote: “That's why I love doing the ‘Jonies’, I make them from the heart and give them from the heart. My cousin sounds like your dad, she is at a loss on why I am not making a bear a day to sell and when I told her about the ponies, she looked at me like I was speaking a different language when I told her I did not sell the ‘Jonies’.”
Still (and for the moment ignoring any possible legal problems with such a project), it’s not as if it’d be inconceivable for you to make such pieces of art uncommissioned and then sell the result. While such a money-scheme might be impossible in terms of copyright vis-a-vis superheroes, I wouldn’t say it’d be impossible for you to make things and then put up the finished product for sale. Not saying that commission work entirely excludes that possibility. I mean JB certainly seems to make the two combine, so in that sense I think it’s matter of being specific and not necessarily taking any and all commissions. But I do think even uncommissioned work could still be sold, combing the art for art’s sake principle with a commercial aspect.
And for the record, YOU are a tremendous artist, Jodi. That much is clear from the Jonies. I've been in awe since first watching the pics and seeing one up close IRL certainly didn't diminish that sense. Absolutely amazing!

Hardcore definition of a showtune:
A song composed for a musical theater production. (Stage.)
That's at its most basic.

Favorite show-tunes????? So... many...
"Somewhere That's Green" from LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, "The Quartet Finale" from CANDIDE, "Goin' Courtin'" from SEVEN BRIDES, "Move On" from SUNDAY IN THE PARK, "Good Times Are Here To Stay" from DAMES AT SEA, "The Doctor Is In" from CHARLIE BROWN, "Cool" from WEST SIDE (2nd Bernstein on the list... okay, I'll go for three:) "I Can Cook, Too" from ON THE TOWN, "The Ballad of Guiteau" from ASSASSINS, "Oklahoma" from OKLAHOMA!, "Dance: Ten; Looks: Three" from A CHORUS LINE
I'm sure there are more. Let me think about it a little.

Bass / baritone here.
Sang in choir in high school, as well as barbershop quartet, and a couple of musicals.

I can't prance(bad knees) but my dirt-bag brother can. He's over 300lbs, it should be fun. Speaking of 300lbs, he's desperately trying to lose weight. If anyone has tips he can use(he's currently on 700 calories a day; he's ready to eat his children), please post them. I'll let him know to check the thread.
