Moyer I learned so many hilarious things hanging out with a bunch of teenage guys, you should see all my Christmas pictures of reindeer humping.

Is that doe humping a buck?  Must have a strap on, which I guess could be a flashlight.

Nope. But hat's why the deer population is plummeting in Indiana though...

No that's a picture I googled, a couple years ago those light up deer were really popular around here and Jon's friends would go out and put them in humping position. I never got mad at them, I felt it was pretty harmless, because they never drank until when they went off to college, so I thought the trade off was good.

My wife doesn't always understand the need to "show up" at family things.  To me its a big deal.  Hilarity ensues.

Okay, I'm three pages late, but whatever!  I'm so like your wife -- my family is not very tight (though I'm good friends with my sister, but even there, sometimes we go weeks without seeing each other -- and she lives two miles away!).  Nobody works hard to get together, sometimes holidays, sometimes not.

Whereas Eric is big on family and "showing up to things" and "responsibility" -- words with which I have only passing acquaintance.  And I'm not a big fan of his sister's husband -- especially after their kid fed my dog a wine cork -- yet there we are at their house all the freakin' time...

Not enough hilarity ensues.

Joakim said "Apropos of the "that is soo gay" line, I've told you guys about the "gay buccaneer" thing right? "

Not on any of the pages I've seen...

Yep, story time, Joakim. I haven't heard it either.
I have heard of the Angry Pirate, but I suspect that's a different story.

My wife comes from a small family -- and not very close one.  I come from a big close family.  The way each of families act is still somewhat foreign to both of us.  My wife doesn't always understand the need to "show up" at family things.  To me its a big deal.  Hilarity ensues.

Same here. I cannot get used to a family that only tries to see each other a couple times a year. My father is my best friend after my wife and I wouldn't have it any other way. My wife on the other hand only speaks to her mother a couple times a month, if that. And her father even less than that.

Just seems weird to me. I couldn't imagine not being close to my family.

Don't get me wrong, if my family was like my wifes I probably wouldn't be too close either. ;)

I'm in the middle.  I'm close to my family but I also have no problems with long periods on not getting together.  For example I'm spending a week back in my hometown next month.  Haven't been home in three years.
