Al, you're allowed to trim or shave as much or as little as you want... though, I imagine the wifey might have some say one way orthe other.  It usually seems they do, in many many cases.  And that tends to go for something as "simple" as beard or no beard  (keeping the topic neatly above the belt).

Incidentally, as for arm pits...  I tend to shave everything off in there every once in a while, just to get a sense of fresh new hair in that little sweat area.  And speaking of which, I do think it's about that time soon.  ;)

C'mon Moyer -- admit it a nice rack turns your head too!

and the itch joke was . . . well think about what comes from Maryland and
is
served in a softshell that causing itching.

Funny... I got a couple pics of some boobage. I'll try to post a few pics on
here a bit later, and on facebook. Weather was bloody fantastic here. Got
up to the 70s.. barely a cloud in the sky and lots and lots of skin showing
in the French Quarter.

Re: manscaping, I know its TMI, but mine involves mostly using the
clippers with no guard on the chest, arm pits and uh..elsewhere. I rarely
take the razor there. Clippers work real good and avoids the itching since
you're not really shaving. I clip my legs every couple months too. It's a
very refreshing feeling, it feels like a ton of weight has been taken off
when you do it.

The first time I have heard of trimming the man-pubes was in -- of all things -- one of the Austin Powers films. Dr. Evil IIRC said something about the "wonderfull feeling of a freshly shaven scrotum" or some such.

I did it on a lark a few years ago and have kept it up when time allows. This is not a process to be rushed. No special tools. I approach the problem same as with the face: 5-blade Gilette razor, lots or moisturizing shaving cream, a lot of pulling skin around. Have to say, that things can be amazingly elastic down there. Everything gets shaved: pork AND beans.

The biggest challenge is shaving behind the beans. I refuse to use a mirror and become over-acquainted with myself from that perspective.

Never cut myself, not even a knick. Great feeling for the first few days. I recommend a swim in a pool sans-bathing trunks if it can be managed without the police being called into the situation.

Expect a monster itch withing the week, however. Not an exercise to be practiced if public speaking is a frequent event. If you like the woman on top and she has more folliage than you do, major carpet burns may result.

And, whatever you do, do not apply aftershave unless the fires of Hell appeal to you.

By all means, no aftershave.

Also, while we are discussing fun pain, a reminder....when handling things like jalapenos, please ALWAYS remember to wash your hands before going to drain the lizard. I didn't once, and it took about a minute for the oils to seep into my skin. It felt like Mr. Johnson's head had been dipped into a deep fryer.

Never again. Nope.....never, never, never.

LOL

Yes to the chest and armpits trim. As for the rest I trim but not heavily, try to keep a natural look to it. Don't like the look of it fully shaved or when it looks trimmed. you know when guys look like they have an hitler moustache down there? bleh!!

For a while in the 90's "The Hitler" was popular with the ladies of porn. I
wonder whether this look ever caught on with civilians, female or male.

You're not alone in learning that lesson the hard way.  Heard a variant of your telling from a guy whom I used to know.  He'd been chopping jalapeños for a party, and as you normally don't wash your hands BEFORE you do what do it in the li'l boy's room, he didn't.  As he described it though, it didn't take too long for the seeping in to occur... he basically jumped his parts into the wash basin.

And as a follow up...  certain types of strong liniments and the like also require THOROUGH washing before any bathroom visits, as I had a slight lesson in the other evening (girlfriend currently having neck pains*)... and I had washed my hands, I thought... just not quite as much as required (though enough to only be a slight warming sensation rather than hellfire).

*  And no, I'm NOT a pain in her neck.  Just to get that out of the way before some of you funny bone people jump all over it.

Tiger Balm is definitely something you don't want to get down there.

Ah, so it's called that in English as well.  I wasn't sure, but the liniment in question was indeed Tiger Balm.  Funny thing (if you have that kind of ironic humour) is that while I was rubbing it into my girlfriend's neck we discussed the importance of washing my hands afterwards and not getting the TB anywhere it ought not be.  And so I washed, though apparently I did not scrub quite enough.

Also, these stories remind me of one of the stories in Trainspotting (the book) where Spud (I believe it is) is picked up one of the girl's who's decided that it's time for her to lose her...um... backdoor virginity.  Looking for some kind of lubricant they find a jar of Vicks vapo rub and apply to Spud's parts...  and then the whole thing kind of takes a spin away from the plan.  Spud being in pain, and later learning that the woman went ahead with somebody else instead that same evening.  Harsh story.
