While I don't really agree with your assessment of Season 1, Steve, and while I certainly think there are advantages of watching the whole thing in order to catch the nice small references that spices things up, I do agree that Whedon did do a show that was very viewer friendly in the sense that any episode, more or less, could be someone's first.
That said, I didn't get into the first time I briefly came across it (don't know why) and am not really sure of where I came in properly and just stayed with it, more or less, missed some due to journeying and then picked up the DVDs... which unless I misremember I started with season 5 which was about where I'd lost track on telly.
But, having seen them all in order multiple times since, it does enhance the experience.

Thanks for the advice guys!!! I will probably see if I can download one or two
episodes and go from there. If I like them, I will buy the DVD sets for cheap
on Amazon or something.

I don't get the appeal of shaving down there. Trimming, yeah, I can understand why someone would do that, but shaving?

My first time. back in 99 i think it was. I'll shave twice a week if I have the time.
It's been two weeks since I've shaved and I'm going crazy :|

I prefer to spend summers in Rangoon taking luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets.
