Yesterday she was saying something like, "Where is that Al Cook?  If he were only with me right now..."

The Oscars have always been a problem for me...I hate the awards show, but I do enjoy most of the movies that get the nomination if not the award.  I do often get a kind of Emperor's new clothes feel from the movies time to time.

But, I do enjoy the party that my mother-in-law throws...Ballots and food, and fun.

This year I am Taking my wife and Mother-in-Law to an Oscar Movie marathon...

All 5 nominated films in one fell swoop...That's tommorow.

Okay, I again expose myself as a bad gay.

I don't care all that much about the Oscars. I will not host/attend an Oscar
Party. How bad am I?

You aint the only one Tom. I could give two shits over any award show
really. Hollywood patting itself on the back. I could also careless over most
of the movies nominated. So f'n self important.

My wife and I used to watch the Oscars together every year. We loved it -
the whole thing. Even when it was awful it was good.

Not interested in the Oscars...My partner and i are gonna cancel our Satellite dish service for lack of interest and time to watch it.

What i would like to experience is the Berlin's Film Festival...in Berlin, of course!

I used to sit up and watch the Oscars a while back, while studying or working on the thesis (i.e. work that doesn't necessarily have fixed time schedule, given that the awards usually end at about 6-7 a'clock a.m. over here).  And I used to enjoy it.  But first the good state owned channel gave it up (to spend all their effin' money of sports yet again, yay! f***ers) and whoever took it over wasn't really doing that great of a job.  + during the time I did watch it consistently grew more and more boring as A) people was so strictly kept on time that anything really interesting was inevitably cut off, and B) a majority of the people was just ranting away on a huge thank you list filled with managers, agents, lawyers and the like, like a huge f***ing credit title of their life's work so far.

Ah well...

The Oscars are a miss for me too Tom so we'll put them in the NOT GAY column. I'll catch the results the next day. I'd only end up shouting at the TV anyway.

OKAY, I thought this was funny. Nothing to do with our current Oscar
talk, but it might make you laugh. From a posting on craigslist.org. I
don't know how authentic it is, but it's still damn funny.

To the woman that crapped in my car. (NE Portland)

We met on Craigslist so I am hoping that this post finds you. I know that
it could quite possibly be the most humiliating first date that you have
ever been on, but I am willing to look past that.

I thought we had chemistry sitting at McMenamins sharing that basket of
Cajun Tots while drinking the Terminator Stout. I really felt like there was
a connection there. I found you to be intelligent and witty and looked
forward to further conversation with you.

At some point in life, everyone has gambled on a fart and lost. It just
happened to be on a first date in the passenger seat of my car. Please
don't feel bad. The package I sent you with Pepto the next day and the
note that said "First dates are always a crap shoot. Call me" was meant to
be funny, not offensive.

I have gambled on a fart and lost on multiple occasions. The first time I
did it was very memorable. It happened when I was five and sitting on my
uncle's lap. I am lactose intolerant, but love cheese. I probably win 95% of
the time, but I don't think anyone wins 100% of the time. That's why they
call it "gambling". I'm the last person to judge you for crapping your
pants. In fact, I am impressed by your boldness. The timing on the other
hand, could have been a tad bit better...like when you're not sitting on a
heated leather seat...

What I am trying to say is that if you want to go out again, I would be
more than happy to take you someplace where we can get a meal that is
high in fiber and less taxing on the digestive tract.

I await your call,
Stout
P.S. - If you shat yourself on purpose to end the evening early.Touché.

A friend of mine is having a small Oscar party so I'm looking forward to the Oscars this year.  Should be a lot of fun.
