As a Christian I don't feel persecuted at all. I do feel embarrassed and ashamed by what some of my fellow Christians do and say.
I'm happy to respond to the poll but the poll as framed is completely biased and factually inaccurate. According to the poll African-Americans have "special rights."* Must have missed that class in law school. The way that poll is framed is astounding in its ignorance, but clearly intentionally framed to foster fear and unrealistic feelings of oppression. Moreover, homosexuals are not seeking special rights, they are seeking equal rights -- the kind that are supposed to be guaranteed under the law. The kind that protect bigoted Christians (and non-Christians) to spew their hateful rhetoric. These fools are on the wrong side of history on this one. Future generations (and by that I hope it to mean my daughters but fear it will mean my grandchildren) will wonder why anyone was ever opposed to equal rights for homosexuals.
*Recognizing that finding offense in this poll is like finding grease at a Denny's but really, how offensive, and patently untrue is that?

Christians are the guys who spends their time reading the bible and can't use figures or portraits of saints....
I'm anglican/catholic and the term "Christians" always mix me up!

I'm Catholic as well, Juan.* Unfortunately, Holy Mother Church, is not very progressive on the gay rights issue, fabulous vestaments notwithstanding!
*Or should I say Howth?

Got a tattoo today. My daughter has been messing with me for a while about getting one, and we were out today having a good BBQ lunch. On the way home we stopped into a local shop, Blue Horseshoe Tattoo, and I got hooked up. I have thought about getting the Superman emblem like Tom has, and I will probably get that down the road. But today I went with family. My grandson Michael calls me Pa-Paw, so......

I look at it, and I can hear him say it.

doesn't hurt as much as people think, david. It's like you're being scratched for a real long time. You get sore after a while but nothing that's unbearable.

I think if someone could develop a tattoo removal process that is inexpensive and less painful they could make a mint. I can see a generation of girls who have "tramp stamps" or tats around their navels (among other places) looking to have such bodyart removed after pushing a kid or two through. Potential goldmine.
