I had a suit and tie that was owned by my dad that day. I wasn't happy
having to wear "dads nerdy clothes" and I remember that the place I had
to get my photo taken was in Hillcrest, the extremely gay area of San
Diego, so I was very excited to go there.

The photographer was another story. A gruff old man, who had to make it
a point to tell me that he did a lot of model photography and that all the
models he shot were faggots... sigh...

That day, just a couple hours after that photo I went to the barber and
had my head shaved to the skin! I was so sick of big hair, but a few days
later regretted it. I could never pull off the surfer "do" after that, my hair
just wouldnt comb right.

Okay -- my turn!  My turn!

I couldn't find my high school yearbook, but here's a pic of me AT my high school graduation, June 1982:

And if I may...?

I found a family portrait labeled "Xmas 1972":

The photo's in pretty rough shape (and I haven't had much of a chance to play with it in photoshop and get rid of those wrinkles).  I'm the cutie in blue.  Look at those velvet vests!  Were we the Partridge Family or what?

I was 17 in '86, so I was likely madly in love with some woman who was
breaking my heart.

So really, not that much different from right now.

I am sorry if I offend anyone but something that is popular now, that I just do not like, Scene Kids skin tight girl/kids pants that guys wear. The mom in me worries they are going to hurt their circulation.

A fifteen year old female friend of Danielle's was wearing those skin tight black pants as everyday wear and the shape of everything was very well articulated. To the point where I happened to notice (not that I had intended to look, it just was sort of right there) she had... gotten the use of a razor if you see what I'm saying. I was weirded out by it and asked Danielle if her friend knew what could be seen (not that it was see through, I'm just talking about how thin and tight the material was), and was she allowed to wear them in school. Apparently nobody had a problem with them and I was weird for being weirded out.

If I was in high school I would very much have appreciated the... jiggling and the evidence of the personal grooming but as a grown man (and one that has the tendency to want to protect every woman who he considers a friend) I just couldn't wrap my head around everybody's thinking.

I'm getting old. I admit it.

And in 86 I was ten and if I put up a picture of me then the cuteness would cause the internet to implode and that cannot be. Also I don't have a picture.
