While i was in Berlin, i got the chance to get "Berliners"....OMG, they are quite so good. And "Poppy Seed Cakes" are to die for!

it's cream, basically egg + sugar (my favorite part! you can have balls without cream though i dunno why anyone would want those :) )

My brother is obviously mistaken… Pastéis de Nata (cream pastry?) are much better than Bolas de Berlim.

They don't look so good on photos, but they're delicious.

the cream in that is like custard or something. though good, bolas de berlim are vastly superior! Especially at the beach :)

The do look gross, but if they are a pastry type food, I am so there! They

Yep, Moyer… slightly burnt at the top. Some people add powdered cynnamon, but i prefer mine plain.... YUM.

I think there is something wrong with me...I love burnt food! I intentionally
burn my cheese bread, then slather jelly on top of it.

i also like ovos moles de aveiro (soft eggs from Aveiro):

Small but sweet these are most definitely my favorite! The outside is some sort of wafer (the same you take in church during communion) and the inside is, again, a sweet cream of egg and sugar.

 

edited to add: the shape of these are usually sea food, sea shells and sea whatever. There are also small barrels :) the important thing is THEY'RE GOOD!

I used to eat 1/2 kg in 5 minutes. guess that's why i got diabetes! lol
