Joakim, looking up the plural of penis must have been strange. I was just going for comedic effect (I thought the plural was penises but I liked the sound of peni too much not to use it).
It reminds me of a game I like to play with English majors; messing with them by using slightly off kilter words and waiting for their heads to explode. It only works on those that don't know me so I haven't been able to play it for awhile.
I use a word incorrectly, they feel the need to correct me, I twist their words back around to support my argument, they continue to argue, I make a subtle joke at their expense, they take offense but don't know if the offense was meant because obviously someone as dense with words would not know enough to have actually made that joke deliberately. This usually goes on for a while, until someone either fills them in or I slip up and drop the dumb jock routine. Just good natured ribbing, but I do find the exasperated expressions on their faces funny.
A quick shortcut; use the word irregardless and watch their eyes bug out.
