My old dog Daisy always slept on my bed with me... but she hardly shed.

There's so much fur in my bed I don't know where I end and the dogs begin...

Oh, Good Grief!  I can't be AWOL for few days without 3 pages going up while I wasn't looking.

Catching up quickly...Whakeem has more patience for quotes than I do, I know it is a personality flaw on my part, I respect my soul brother a great deal for his wherewithal.

On pets...

Our Family cat is getting on in years, I think she is about 14 now.  When the girls are staying with their Grands, she will wander the halls of our house letting out a mournful wail that would rival any haunted house for sheer spooky, she sometimes reverts to kitten and chases invisible things around the house...we call it the zips...I love her dearly and no expense, with the exception of her suffering, would be too great to keep her with us for another week.

On Thanksgiving.

I was invited to my brother's house for Thanksgiving but turned them down saying that I was booked at the in-laws this year(more later).  We made several dishes between us...Two Pumpkin Pies(and, yes they are that good.) and a Pecan.  It is Texas you know.  My wife also made a Sweet Potato Suffle' (great to use the next day as a base for sweet potato pancakes)  My daughter made Cranberry dressing, and an Apple Cobbler that would have made you slap you Grandma.

Unfortunately the food that others provided was not really up to snuff...ah well, it's about family and all that...had a good nap as the game was such an obvious blow-out.

On Family:

My family is a bit of a mixed bag, and although my sister an brother-in-law are about the nicest people I could ever hope to meet(my idea of a good Christian Family), the rest of them I could do without.  We are separated by years, ideals, and politics.  Last year we did Thanksgiving with them, and I was ready to leave within about 30 minutes...The jabs about my weight, I could tolerate.  But, there was more than one comment about Celeste(who is my step-daughter) not being my real daughter.  I looked at her when this was said and the hurt was apparent and real...I corrected the offending party, but the damage was done.  I'm done with that side...they'll get pictures but little else from me.

I guess that covers inappropriate comments as well Tom?

On a lighter note:

I was putting Sarah to bed the other night, and my Asthma has been kicking up and creating a wheeze in my chest.  She heard this and thinking I was messing around asked me to quit it.  I explained what it really was and took a couple of deep breaths so she should could hear it clearly....her assessment?

"It sounds like a hundred tiny souls screaming to be set free"

I tell you she is one in a million.

Don

Tom I am thrilled Betty is doing better.  Wow your vet bill was high,  what does people that are poor do?  Wonder why it was so high, Vets don't have to carry the same type of malpractice insurance do they?

I wish I could sleep with Bella, but she is so grouchy in bed, if she is in deep sleep and you just touch her, she snaps at you. She has little dog syndrome.

Speaking of dogs here is Bella's contribution to the Christmas newsletter.

So happy to hear that Betty is better, Tom.  We JBF'ers do love our animal friends.
