Thank you -- I don't envy me, either. Worse, I'm a music teacher, so, not just that I have to write comments for everybody, many of these kids I've had for four years! What's left to say that I haven't already said? Mostly, the comments become about behavior and effort in the classroom. Still, I have 240 to write!

******

You can make comments using their names and an anagram game. I think that only works for Alec Guiness though.

But surely the Mormons wouldn't donate money in opposition of that?!?!?  ;)

You bet they would!  The LDS has very publicly gone to great length to "mainstream" Mormonism.  And a big part of that has been to specifically and emphatically denounce polygamy.  I suspect that is large part of their very vocal and financial attack on Marriage Equality -- to be like the other churches.

Tom, I am ready to see and or hear your Aesop musical...any word on the being available?

Why thank you, Don, I'm glad you asked!  Here's the backstory: A fellow school group from Providence, RI, that saw us perform AESOP in Edinburgh approached us about getting the rights for themselves.  We agreed before we really knew what they were asking.  Throughout the rehearsal process, changes are constantly being made to the script and score.  A lot of times, these are just written in and notated by hand (in red) and that's that.

But to make a score (and script) that are useable for someone NEW to the show, that took another draft of both -- a "final" draft, a publish-able draft, a "clean" draft -- whatever.  It had to be done by November, so naturally, I didn't really start the work until a couple of weeks ago -- and it turned out to be a hell of a lot!  I completed the songs last weekend (all nineteen -- including reprises) and am working this week on the underscoring cues -- that's in addition to report card comments and the middle school musical, which goes up Friday.

Meanwhile, I haven't finished the CD yet -- it still needs to be mixed -- but I HAVE gotten the DVD of the Edinburgh performance.  Perhaps I'll post a couple of clips to You-tube.

I can't believe I'm STILL working on AESOP after all this time -- and post-production work is nothing short of mindlessly boring.  But to be published means a final, final draft.  Sigh...  back to it...

Now that’s kinda sad.  Don’t get me wrong, I can enjoy mainstream as much as the next guy, but any diet needs variation. Or to quote those old Roman buggers: ”Varatio delectat!”

And thanks for the Aesop’s update, Tom.
