Good sense of humour, intelligence, someone whom I can talk to and share ideas with.  Beyond that my track record have gone over both short and tall(ish), thick and thin, dark haired, red haired & blonde...  Physically, I've never really grasped people who are only attracted to a type (be it big boobs or a certain curvature on the behind), I can normally find a variety of physical features in a variety of sizes and shape very attractive, so that's no high ranking, type match concern at all. :)

I should state, for the record, that like our garcious host, I've got a weak spot for redheads. Ironically though, the only redhead I've been involved with (romantically or sexually) was my worst relationship EVER, so I'm not sure what that says about that particular weak spot.

Definitely happy with what I got. :)

My perfect match?  I married her.  But to be honest...when I was a dating man, I loved women...tall, short, redhead, brunette, thinner, thicker(in proportion),   I have a gift(curse?) to be able to find something attractive in almost any woman.  I have loved women all my life, and enjoy looking to this day.

I will admit that I have small weakness for imperfections...a smile that is slightly off center charms no end.  A small scar that begs for story to be told.  But most of all I need a woman I can talk to...she doesn't have to agree with me but she better be able to hold her own in a debate.

My wife promised me I would never regret it, I promised her she'd never be bored.

What attracts you to someone? Describe your perfect match:

---------------

Atheist, redhead, 5'6", hilarious, smart, Jane Krakowski/Beverly D'Angelo-chin, no tattoos, no piercings, and so pale that I have to check her neck for fang marks

In my old age I find "types" less and less important, but...

Dark Hair, Chubbyish, glasses, pale skin, full lips.

Educated, cultured, well-read, culturally aware.

Atheist.

D'oh!

Just realized that we all fell into the trap.

The correct answer to Jodi's question, of course, is:

You are, Jodi. You are.

Perfect match?

What initially attracted me to my wife was her intelligence.  The first time I met her, she was speaking about complex and profound subjects (history and linguistics) without coming across as arrogant or snobby.  Her language invited all at the lunch table to listen in.  She has a great sense of humor, and conducts herself with grace and poise.  Besides all that, she loves Christ and she loves me.  For me that's a winning combination. We have a lot of the same interestests: RUSH, reading books, movies, Asian & Italian food, and travel.  Finally, my wife is very good looking.  I consider myself blessed to have married a godly, gorgeous and intelligent woman !

There's no type.  There's a vibe.

Ah, the vibe.

I get that. Totally. Yeah - that's a much better way of putting it, Tom.

Ahhhh Al you are a sweetheart! as is all the guys, that hang out in this thread.

Reason I asked, is when Moyer diss'ed my gay crush guy, LOL I think he is about the cutest guy ever and if I was a gay man I would be sending him love letters every day. So it got me thinking about what we look at, when finding that special person.

I will admit that I have small weakness for imperfections...a smile that is slightly off center charms no end.  A small scar that begs for story to be told.

Don please tell me you write romance novels on the side ,because the above was like mental foreplay for women. If you had just come in from playing in the yard with the kids and said that, most women would be all over you.

Man redheads are pretty popular.

For me looks aren't as important as sense of humor and  kindness, I wanted someone that is a  liberal. I wanted them to value family. Be willing to be silly at times, to have, kind of a dirty sense of humor, no prudes allowed. He needed to be able to laugh at himself and not take life too serious. Being an atheist would be OK but since he keeps his religious views to himself, I am OK with that.  Love travel is a must.
