My favorite food network show is easily Good Eats, though I'll pretty much watch anything on there. Especially Giada. It's my TV velcro channel, the channel I turn to when I'm waiting for a show to come on (that used to be the music channels but they don't play music anymore) or I'm just killing time. The best show I've seen for learning to cook though is Michael Smith's Chef at Home, just beautiful and simple stuff you can do at home and he also does a great job of explaining the principles of doing something. It isn't just do this and then do this and get this result, it's why you do the first thing and the second thing and why they work together to produce a good result and how you can apply that food theory to other foods.

Where did you live in NJ David?

I was only there for a month long holiday staying with my godmother (she's since returned to Ireland). I think it was Trenton or somewhere thereabouts.

I think we're going to have to invent a worst pun award and give it to Tom.
The Ospun? No... sounds like the osbournes more than the oscars.
The Empuns? That just sounds off.
The PePun Choice Awards? Hmmm... maybe.
The Golden Globes? I like golden globes myself but seems less than fitting for this thread...

I cannot help punning -- it exposes my love of language (and bad jokes). I think it's the lyricist in me that can't help but "go there" and see what sneaky stuff I can get through into the finished work.

Catching up, yet again... and now on page 151. We passed page 150 and not a single soul mentioned the fact that we were at 150. What's up? We're losing our partying spirit in here now? Used to be we talk all chances to party... we getting old and to set in everyday wedded life? ;)
Michael Roberts wrote:
"There's always the dream of having two tacos with a sausage."
True... and for the sake of accuracy, I'm sure there are those who'd like two sausages with their one taco... and then of course any number of combination numbered mixes upto fullfledged free for all tacos/sausages parties.
Hm... is this about as far as we can take this metaphor without performing necrophilia on it, I wonder?
Tom wrote:
"This makes no sense to me. Who'd want two when NONE will do! Personally, I'd rather the sausage sampler platter!"
Well, you know, to each his own. As a pescetarian I'm just pound to prefer a fish or shrimp taco to a meaty sausage. But you my friend can have all the platters you want! (caveat: provided that the hubbie agrees with that kind of indlugnces, of course).
Juan wrote:
"Are we still talking about food? ;)"
Well... depending on how we define "food" I guess. I mean, you can definitely put it in your mouth, right?
So, there's some food for thought.
Al wrote:
"I think Mike O'Brien would like to think so..."
Well, he obviously walked right into that particular trap, didn't he? Makes you wonder what Mike's health concerns with "tacos" are? ;)
Tom wrote:
"Their effort has done nothing short of pissing me off. Are they really worried that if men are given a choice of who to marry, they'd choose men instead of women?"
Indeed. Personally, I've always felt that my sexuality hinges on such things as there not being marriages readily available.
Stupid asses.

I've said it before -- no one puts Tom's thread in a corner.
Tom's puns tickle me . . . maybe he's The French Tickler?
