2%? I think there should be rules about such a small margin.
Still waiting over here for our law.

Sorry to hear about Prop 8 as well. That's very odd considering the monumental election results yesterday.

He isn't a typical Republican. Must be interesting breakfast conversation with him being married to a Kennedy!

Someone must have told me. I'm not usually that knowlegdeable on these things. I usually refer to the actors as "the guy that did ___ and ___". My friend usually supplies the name. We have this friend thing where we have conversations and he'll know what I'm talking about by vague TV and comicbook references. It's like a weird language! (I drifted there...)

David,
The 2+ percent bothers me too. I was appalled when I first found out that it only takes a simple majority to amend our state constitution. Just to put this into perspective, it takes a TWO-THIRDS majority to raise taxes and pass a budget (traditionally simple legislative actions in most states and the nation).

So, with Bigotry made law in here in California, I don't think I'm legally allowed to participate in this thread anymore.
Frankly, Jodi - it's the other way around - one step forward, TWO steps back. As signifigant as the Obama win is - people didn't vote for the black race - they voted for Barack Obama. But here in "liberal" California, the voted AGAINST gays.
Fucking sickening.
Last night, between two different props, the people of Califuckia voted - took the effort to register a yea or nea on giving pigs and chickens more rights than gays.

Don wrote (apropos of the nice poem he quoted):
"I do believe everyone here is a winner."
Well, credits to hugs and all... but a good tug every now and then doesn't hurt, does it?
(sorry couldn't resist)
Juan wrote:
"When Obama reached the needed points, everybody yelled and celebrated. Everyone was respectful of McCain, when he gave his speech, and deep down, i felt bad for him, for a couple of minutes."
I thought McCain's concession speech was really good (managed to miss Obama's speech, really had to head bedwards after McCain's) and I think that while I preferred Obama on the whole reagrdless, I wouldn't have felt as strongly opposed to McCain had he not had his mad woman sidekick as VP Candidate.
Sympathies to the Californians on the Prop 8 disaster. Sad.

O of course you are. You'll just have to be a modern day gay Calfornian equivalent of Robin Hood. Just take it from the rich and give it to the poor, right?
(sorry, was that borderline too vulgar, or is the border actually the dot in the distance behind me? No offense intended though)

I would LOVE to be the modern Robin Hood for gays! (More, I'd look great in the tights... er... I mean, uniform!)
