I miss so much when I take the day off. Earlier goings on brought this to mind:
Hug O War Shel Silverstein I will not play at tug o' war
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses
And everyone grins
And everyone cuddles
And everyone wins.
I do believe everyone here is a winner.
Don

Prop 8 passed indeed. Good going, Californians (well, actually, good going to the religious groups who gave thousands upon millions of dollars to defeat it)!
We shall overcome...

For those of you who wants his build-o-bama, go here:
http://www.build-o-bama.blogspot.com/
Yeah, yesterday was a mess. My partner and i had to ride on bicicles to get to the American Embassy's party to watch the elections, because the accident was near the place, and traffic was diverted. Once there, security was very tight, as usual with the American Embassy.
The salon had 4 big screens with CNN, FOXNEWS and local news tv programs. But the content of the news were changing between the elections and the plane accident. The American Ambassador was present, and press. We said hi to some friends. Burgers, hotdogs, beer and wine.
When Obama reached the needed points, everybody yelled and celebrated. Everyone was respectful of McCain, when he gave his speech, and deep down, i felt bad for him, for a couple of minutes.
When we got to see Obama, and hear his speech....wow, even i, a mexican, cried. Now, USA finally has a man of honor as a president. At that moment i thought "Bush made me lose my faith in America, but Obama gave it back to me, a faith in a country that can do miracles". I was lucky, because i got to be in the right place in this historical moment. I thanks my partner our friends for that!.

Really disappointed in the Prop 8 vote. And it's going to be a mess figuring
out where the current gay marriages stand.

Thanks!
I just can't believe that Prop 8 passed! Damn!
Sadly -here in Mexico- there are rumors about sabotage, and the saddest part is that the plane crashed in a very crowded place, 30 cars where burnt to ashes... but the news says that there are only 15 casualties -9 in the plane and 6 on the street-.

Prop 8 passed indeed.
That just sucks, its really terrible news. Someday we'll look at laws like Proposition 8 they way we look at Jim Crow laws: as testaments to the ignorance of the past. I hope that day is soon.
