I wonder were the fears removed, if more men wouldn't experiment.  After seeing all the drunk frat boys in my life, I wonder...

This is the bestest gay wedding thread ever!

Certainly the longest and most viewed!  Hell, we're over 300 comments and well over 40,000 views.  I'm a little proud of that.  I mean, we're not the "TOSS UP" thread or even the "Presidential Elections" thread, but we're still goin' strong!

Indeed. And still having fun, interesting and meaningful discussions as well. Have to agree with Kevin, bestest gay wedding thread ever! (though I have to admit I haven't visited too many)  ;)

Well, hopefully Joakim -- there will be many more to choose from in the future.

(Aside: How does one pronounce your first name?  My English Phonics rules are all screwed up here.  Can you phoneticize it for me?)

I always thought it would be like Khan says it in Star Trek II.

Well, without using any proper phonetic alphabet, I would probaböy write it out as
   You-ah-kim
if I want an English speaking person to pronounce it properly. That said, if we'd ever meet up in person, while speaking English, I'd probably introduce myself as
  Jou-ah-kim
adding that bit of a d-sound at the opening. My mind being soaked in English and all. :)

Interesting. I've been pronouncing it in my head as Wha-keem.

I had a professor in college who preferred the term "heterosexist".  Whatever you all think of that one, definately add me to the list of those who HATE the term homophobia.

Hey, Tom, the director of the film (Nicholas Meyer) insists that Khan's pecs are the single most asked about thing in ST II, and that they are 100% REAL.

Same here, JB -- but I had a feeling that was an English-speaking person (worse, an AMERICAN English-speaking person) mutilating a language of which I have little understanding.

In college -- as a poor music student -- I had to take four semesters of "Diction for singers" where we learned the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).  But Dutch and Swedish and some of the eastern European languages fell through the cracks.  Language acquisition happens early in a child's development.  Once a child is exposed to his/her native tongue, so do some abilities to form "foreign" vowels disappear.  It's absolutely fascinating to me.

And I always thought I had a nimble tongue -- pardon the bad joke...
