That Fraser sure is a cutie.

And those episodes are some of the best of the series.

See I get how some could find Fraser "pretty" but to me he's goofy looking. I
think Claudia Schiffer is goofy looking too so I don't fnd her terribly
attractive either.

He's got the right mix of puppy dog with floppy ears and protective St. Bernard that will not hesitate to kill to protect those he loves.  And please, may that be the gayest thing I ever write...

O don't worry, be happy!

(sayeth Wha-keem, who is a bit bummed that neither Al nor anyone else seemed to notice is little witty reference to Genesis on page 124, post 16, mid-post in reply to Al).

As for Fraser... let's not forget his excellent job in Gods and Monsters. A good film that is quite morose for being so gay.

Frasier annoys me by doing a really good well acted and well respected film like The Quiet American and then following it with some silly movie that he had risen above.

Apo-pologies accepted this time. Next time you slip, I'll give you a Brazilian. Wax that is.  ;>

And now for something completely different, borrow an old phrase...
Me and the li'l woman are currently watching the first season of The Wire on DVD (haven't seen it before, but we're becoming real fans, I can tell you). Anyway, there was this scene in one of the episodes we watched this evening, where the female police Keema (sp?) is out with her girlfriend and some (obviously) lesbian friends of theirs. Now, they were 5 or 6 in the group and at least two couples, Keema (whom I'd guess is either of Asian descent or possibly Hawaian) and her girlfriend who is black, and another between a white woman and another black woman. Granted that this is a TV show and not real life, with all that that implies, but it sort of got me thinking...  is the idea and more importantly practice of interracial relationship more widespread among homosexuals than in the heterosexual community at large?
Obviously, I'm not under the delusion that that would have to be the case, I'm sure there are gay people out there who are bigots et al, just as there is in the general population, but I couldn't help but wonder if living life in opposition to a lot of bigots and whatnots would also, possibly, wear away some of the negative potential to be one yourself.
Anyways, what's the lowdown from our gay members who may have seen more live statistics out there IRL, and thoughts and ideas from us all I guess.

And small apo-pologies for going soemwhat serious again, but my brain just started churning away...  And there is a high probability that I'll die from that proverbial thing that killed the cat.

I have to disagree with you, David, on Brendan Fraser in that he is such a talented comedic actor that I feel it a shame when he isn't using that gift and making people laugh. There are a lot of comedians who become decent actors but there are few good actors who can tell a joke really well (Robert Deniro is learning but it is a slow and laborious and often unfunny process) and I think Fraser has a gift for comedy. One of the best comedic actors I have ever seen was Cary Grant and I feel movies lost that talent when he decided that he was a 'serious' actor and refused to be in silly movies. I have never laughed harder than I did the first time I watched Arsenic and Old Lace, and while everyone is great in that movie it is Cary Grant that sells the joke with his reactions.

Interesting question, Joakim, though when I see those kinds of things on TV shows I always wonder where the girl in the wheelchair is as I see it as an attempt to squeeze in as many disadvantaged demographics in one scene as they possibly can. Like in comics there are a lot of lesbian characters but not a lot of gay men characters and to me that comes across as straight male writers getting their rocks off at the thought of making their actresses suck tongue. I could be wrong.
