After my marriage failed, I didn't think I could love anyone ever again. I was wrong.
When I found another woman who I could love who said she loved me, I was afraid that she would hurt me and leave. I was right.
I'm almost envious of men with erectile dysfunction. I'd have less trouble in my life if I didn't get those amorous stirrings from time to time.

I think ED is more common than many men are willing to admit. As we age, even though our little swimmers are still there, their potency and numbers diminish. This all connects to the autism stuff I was talking about before.
I made the mistake of dating a 20-something a couple of years ago. The sex was great, but EXHAUSTING in its frequency. I wonder if that's the reason so many gay men end up on crystal. Here in DC, that's a HUGE issue!

I don't know, Tom. I date women. So marriage kills sex altogether for me.

Maybe gays are lucky we haven't gotten that right, then...

Catching up a bit...
Tom wrote "Perhaps he should change his name to 'Lewis Lane...'"
Sounds about right. Now, would that make you Mr Lane? I mean since he'd be your Mr Lane. ;) As you said, many issues that are hard to keep straight (and I'll pardon your pun if you'll pardon mine).
More Tom: "On the other hand, I think we're ALL a little bit nuts inside..."
Only a little, Tom? Man, I must work harder to live up to my Mad Swede handle, I can tell. ;)
Al wrote: "I believe that the King James Bible says that thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's ass, Joakim, but man do I break that one every time she's out showing it off in those tight jeans!"
Not sure if the old Testament allow for women to hold assets, Al, let alone asses, now if she has a hubbie, I'm sure it could be reasoned that the ass on her belongs to him, etc (in a confusing manner) and otherwise it should be safe. I mean surely a WOMAN could not be considered a neighbour? ;)
Tom wrote: "I was legitimately handcuffed at a road-stop one time when the Officer was determined that there was crack on the front seat of my car. Turned out to be Pop-Tart frosting."
Well, you know what they say, sugar high can be very dangerous, Tom. ;)
More Tom: "Put a couple of drinks in me, Kevin, and you'll be AMAZED at what comes out my mouth! However, I CAN promise that this thread will never cross-dress!"
Man, now I really feel like putting on a gown, just to break that boundary as well. ;)
Jodi wrote: "My son has a friend that when he was about 6 came over to our house for a class party and I thought that he acted as you stated, at about 14 he came out. At 6 he could not have learned that behavior. It wasn't the over blown actions that he has now, but he still had some of the qualities you mentioned. So I always thought that those behaviors were something you were born with and not learned. He is a very feminine acting gay man. So I am confused about the 'learned' issue."
I think the issue of learning here concerns subconscious learning, and that I do believe children pick up on fairly certain. Mostly because I don't see the so called "feminine" behaviours as particularly hard-wired into little girls, but as something society is pretty good at pushing upon them from an early age
Al wrote: "Wait a minute, people turn gay? Are we just leaving them out in the sun too much? Is there a special container that we can put our kids in to prevent this from happening?!?"
Yup. It's all about the global warming and not enough sun tan lotion, didn't you know, Al? Better put on some of that lotion. ;)
More Al: "Double wait a minute: Gays can't be Scout Masters?!?! WTF?!?!
(Never mind. I sense that going there would open another Pandora's box of ignorance here that I'm just not equipped to handle politely.)"
Felt the same way, Al. I mean it's obvious isn't it? Just because someone, like say Tom, is gay and gets turned on by MEN, that means the by default must also be turned on by young boys, because we all know that heterosexuals like you and me all go around with the hots for underage little girls, right? *sigh* The logic of some people are just so sad, but then this seems to be in line with some of the homophobs (is that how that's spelt?) out there who seem to be afraid of gays, because obviously THEY would be the target of all these gay men's approaches. Delusions of grandeur much I wonder?

For the record, it's "homophobes," but I'll let it go this time! Didn't you know, the pedophile card is a favorite to play against the gays? I say it again and again -- I'm attracted to MEN, not boys.
Another fun one to throw out sometimes is this: do you, as an adult hetero male, know how you feel when you're checked out in the locker room or bathroom or wherever you feel vulnerable by a gay man? Do you feel objectified? Why, that must be how a woman feels when you do the same exact thing to her!
But nobody likes the shoe on the other foot.
Actually, I find most heteros to be a bit egotistical about that. What on earth makes you think you're so hot that the gays WOULD be checking you out?
When I started lifting at the "gay gym" here in DC, I said to my friends, "For a forty-three year old straight man, I'm in great shape... but for a forty-three year old gay man, I got some work to do."

Ah, the early days of marital bliss with the glory of alcoholic stupor. Enjoy these times Tom, enjoy these times. :o)

I'm doing my best, Geoff. Eric hasn't quite adjusted to having me home for summer break, yet. Firstly, he doesn't recognize that my vegging in front of the tv and writing forum posts on my laptop is my form of decompression after the school year. Secondly, I'll be starting back in earnest next month as I prepare for Scotland, so I'm trying to take it easy now.
Besides, he's the work-horse at the moment. He just left now to go show some houses in VA and I got the place to myself. Wait a minute... what am I doing here then?
