I was never a handy guy, (if the ladies don't find you handy, they'd better find you handsome) but I learns as you go. My wife and I have done a number of renovations that I never thought i'd be brave enough to tackle. My brother and I finished my basement a couple years ago. My next task is the bathroom. I've tiled the floor but now have to do the shower. It's hard sometimes but the near euphoric feeling you get when people see your finished task is so worth it.

I know what you mean... I'd love to renovate the hell out of the place. I am
good with numbers and measurements... I know I could do it with some
guidance. BUT, I don't own the home with Jacques. He co-owns it with his
mother, so I just have to let it go. I'm getting sick of the situation, but am at
a loss of what to do.

Good to see you guys this AM. Was a long weekend to be sure.
Regarding grey hair....I prefer to think of it as "world experience".

The original tilework in our bathroom is worth preserving -- the fixtures are another matter entirely. I, too, have a penchant for original pieces -- as much as I love hip, modern stuff. But I'd prefer to bring the house "back" to its glory rather than changing it to suit a modern taste. Does that make sense?
I'm handy AND handsome! (just lazy)

Marry him... riiiiight... we are in the bigoted south here remember?
I'm a little over my situation right now honestly... I feel like its run its course.
Pretty much no hope of co-owning anything with him. He's insanely lazy.
There's a weird mother situation... blah blah blah. Just ready to move on I
think, but not sure how to do it. Definitely not financially stable enough to
make the break...yet.

You should've just invented a gamma bomb, silly! ;)

So... basically, Eric's the (stereotypical) woman in your relationship then. ;)
Apropos of the Kama Sutra thing... almost kind of weird that such things weren't included in the original one... or maybe they were and then got edited out, as with so many other things over time.

They still used the toilets, even though it couldn't be flushed. Two adults, four kids (thankfully they were taken away by children's aid) and a big dog. When they finally left everything had to be replaced. She even had to hire a special company to clean up wearing haz-mat suits. Gross!"
Yikes! And I'm betting the poor guys doing that job thanked any powers that be for the haz-mat suits. Methinks I'd want double layers, just for starters.
