Jodi, you did the right thing! I'm with you on this and I admire your courage
to be able to side with the truth!

Thanks for this lesson!

Love,

Vic!

"Chandlers a Girl! Chandlers a Girl!"

Sorry, board required Friends reference.

Nice looking kids.  Is the older girl going to university?  Have they every talked to a therapist?  None of my business (so of course I will butt in) but abused children often end up abusers (or abused) adults.  I hope these girls understand what special people I'm sure they are and that inspite of her actions their mother's violence should not define who the girls are as people.  They, and you, are in my thoughts.

The oldest goes to college next year, they are both in private schools and are headed for college. They are going to start therapy next week. That was one of my requests.

Edited to add: we are nearing 100 pages so I will encourage a more positive marriage drift, but thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Jodi, you absolutely did the right thing just by making those girl's safety (physical, mental, and emotional) your first priority.

Jodi -- doing the right thing is sometimes much more difficult than turning your head and pretending something doesn't exist.  I applaud you for your actions and courage -- someday, your family will thank you, too!

We don't have to be positive just for the sake of numbers.  When a friend is hurting or in trouble, support is always necessary!  Strength to you sister!

Thanks everyone, I have cried so much over this, I told a friend it was like watching someone drown and there was no way to save them. My parents never spanked any of us, I stood in a corner as a kid if I was really bad. My dad would guilt us, I respected him so much, all he had to say was "I am so disappointed in you." and I would crumble. It makes me so sad that she has made right, this behavior, in her head. When I confronted her, her response was "How dare you, interfere again, in my parenting."

When she and the girls were here for their last "all of them together"  visit, which was last christmas I felt like something was wrong, Debi never wanted me to take the girls anywhere without her. I didn't press, sure wish I had.

Jodi, I could apologize for calling you out like that, but, I am not really sorry...you needed to talk about it and I am so glad that you have.

You did the right thing, both then and now... I am proud of you.  To the right thing when it may hurt someone you love(your sister) is a very hard choice to make...Those girls needed you and you did what you had to...you're a hero in my eyes as well...

My wife and I do not spank our children.  After a certain age that is just not an effective punishment.  I hope your week gets better. Stay strong.

D-

Oh and those kids are simply precious...
