Geoff -- those lyrics are pretty darn good.  Solid stuff.

Loving language pays off for lawyers and lyricists <-- that's a good line right there!

I'll post some of my stuff later.  I'm late for a meeting!

Al good choices, I had not heard those before.

I love hearing the older recording of songs when they came from vinyl, recently my son got all of our old albums and an "old time" record player and is loving listening to them. Every night he's been calling, last night it was "Mom I love the Clash, that whole album is so good."

Ahhhhh my coolness points went up a little :0)

Does your copy of London Calling have "Train in Vain" as a "hidden" cut?

Why yes I believe it does.

Another favorite that he also loves that was one of my favorites, Warren Zevon

Ah, Warren.  Gone far too soon.  "Keep Me In Your Heart" is a just a beautiful, heartbreaking song.  Being Irish and thinking of my own demise frequently, as we Irish do, I've decided I want that song and the Faces "Had Me A Real Good Time" played at the reception after my funeral. The bitter and the sweet, so like life!

Geoff I loved The Faces, Maggie May my favorite.

I played "Keep me in your heart" during the video I made for my Mom's funeral, beautiful song.

Original by Zevon:

For thise not in the know and think Maggie May is just a Rod Stewart song, Jodi' correctly identifies it as a Faces song since Woody co-wrote it with him and the rest of boys play on the number.

I wanted the band I was in in college to be like the Faces and eventually grow into an E-Street Band sort of group.  The other guitar player (who I was better than but was one of the founders) wanted to be Pearl Jam.  After about 8 months of bickering and being told to just play my leads, I kicked over my Fender amp and quit.  Good times. I still fucking hate that guy.

Well, there was booze, some drugs, definitely rock n' roll, and definitely not enough sex.
