The ceremony gives Shaun and I the same visitation rights, inheritance rights, etc as straight couples who marry.  Otherwise, if I died and Shaun and I lived together (in what would have been my house in name) for 20+ years, he would have no legal rights to stay there, or to anything of mine etc, etc

(bangs head on desk while saying ) why.....are.......some......americans.........such.......... .........backwater...............ignorant............asses.

Hey we did have freedom fries.

Your sister obviously being a wise woman with some sense of differences between men and... vegetables? Are pumpkins vegetables or what? Aaarghh! Now my mind will not let go.

Indeed. And all those men and women could to it Elvis style in Vegas while not even slightly sober (and not necessarily having known each other very long either I guess). But I agree it is the one woman and one man part which is the single most important part to keep track of here. Definitely.

Well, we're smart enough to spot the real from the disingenuous...

Congratulations Jamie -- I hope you have many years of happiness and
remember the happiness when you are not so happy.

I meant in terms of well-wishing and sincerity.

C'mon, Al, you know you're one of my Forum heroes!  I wish I had half your Chutzpah -- and I've got plenty all on my own!

Jamie -- I have a crush on your avatar.  What is that and do you have a larger copy?

I may have Chutzpah (or as my grandmother would call it, be God's own
asshole), but I'm also an insecure nitwit. Thanks for the good words!

And to hell with Jamie's avatar, I'm developing a little crush on him!

You look like a million bucks Jamie, and like you'd be as fun as two.
