I'm a man with beard
Well, thats not really true.
Am I the only one who finds it exceedingly funny we are talking about beards in a gay wedding thread? Of course we mean the facial kind, not the Liza Minnelli kind.
No facial hair for me -- I always feel greasy if I get more than 2 days growth.

I did indeed try the facial hair thing...many moons ago I managed a fairly nice Van Dyke...before they became all the rage with college kids.
I have never been able to grow one since then...It always comes in patchy and sad..I just keep my face clean and smooth...topped off with a nice splash of Bay Rum.
I am content with the knowledge that if I have to suffer from baldness, at least it's my face instead of my head.

I've always wanted long 90210ish sideburns, but am forever denied with
these weird gaps in facial hair growth on my face. My right sideburn grows
in fine, but my left one has a gap of about a half inch under right near the
middle part of my ear that just ruins the whole thing.
Love facial hair though... I have the beatnik thing goin' on right now. One of
my best friends lives in NY, and tells me the new thing is instead of young
men trying to be twinks, they are now letting themselves get a little heavy
and grow facial hair. Which I find way better than the waif look anyway.
Don't know how true that is though.

My beard does not grow so well, and i'm so bad about taking care of it, that i prefer to be clan shaved. Althought i shave every third day. The same can be said about my partner, and he shaves almost daily!

I love that I just read a Carl Stalling reference.

My last beard style iteration was a little Frank Zappa / D'Artagnan number which the wife put the kibosh on in less than 20 minutes.
Oh well ... I felt sexy while it lasted.

Hmm, I've just got a boring old mustache, it's been in existence since high school. I'd love to grow a beard, but I have a small landing strip on my right side, bout two fingers wide, thats barren of anything resembling hair. I do decent imitations of goatees (all variations) including the Neal Adams GA type. If I had my way, it's be a Neal Adams/ Mike Grell kinda world.

I hope lots of folks got it. Mr. Stalling is an important man.

I'm slow on the take, but is that a reference to Tom's life being "improvisational"? Or just a cartoon?

I believe Tom is saying that the music playing under his life was scored by Mr. Stalling, who as hopefully many of you know composed the music for most of the classic Warner Brothers Bugs/ Daffy/Elmer/Ralph Philips. etc cartoons that we love so much.
It's a very cool reference.
