To this end, Brian raised a point (ironically not materially dissimilar to what you stated above) lamenting that there are those who do not see the good in gay marriage.
He runs/works at a mag/newspaper (?), I respect that. he got those forum posts there. He could do many things, call the police, get paralyzed by fear, call the FBI, delete it, try to trace them or whatever. He decided to raise a point. I don't want to say much about that, but there are other options, there are both worse and better options. I find his decision somewhat peculiar, though. And some rasied eybrowses on my behalf, they are almost flying off.
This is a point that has been addressed repeatedly in this thread. Instead of joining the discussion, however, you chose to accuse Brian of using this thread (and by extension Tom and Eric's nuptials) as a spotlight on his progressiveness. Nothing could be further from the truth, just a I do not believe your statement (quoted above) is your way of establishing how progressive you are. Unless you are telling us that you have used Tom and Eric's wedding to show how open minded or progressive you are (which again, I don't think you are doing). Do you recognize how insulting your assumption and accusation is?
In your post, you mention the couple by name twice if we include their nuptials, but your real concern is the possible insult of completely different person. They appear there still as some kind of tools, let's say to pinpoint my agenda then so I don't insult you. Before that the real worry was the decay of the world or something, by another poster. I feel bad if he is insulted, I apologize here and now to him. Let's say that I, to quote you, have used Tom and Eric's wedding to show how open minded or progressive [I am].
