Geoff and Kevin are attempting to un-Gay the thread. I'm on to you two...

Kevin's tastes are disturbingly similar to mine.

Not the quasi-necrophilia though.

"Kevin's tastes are disturbingly similar to mine."

Yeah? Well you can both forget about Gabrielle Miller. She's mine!

"throwing a little gay back into the thread..."

Just what are you saying here, Brian? That Asians are small? That's
distrubingly racist of you.

I'm not trubed in the least.  I feel so free!  But that could be my new George Foreman underwear...

(Kevin M. Hagerman was not compensated in any way for mentioning George Foreman underwear; he just likes to make people he's never met think of him in his underwear, or someone else's, such as George Foreman.  Have a nice day, and some orange juice will get that nasty bile taste out of your mouth...)

To this end, Brian raised a point (ironically not materially dissimilar to what you stated above) lamenting that there are those who do not see the good in gay marriage.

He runs/works at a mag/newspaper (?), I respect that. he got those forum posts there. He could do many things, call the police, get paralyzed by fear, call the FBI, delete it, try to trace them or whatever. He decided to raise a point. I don't want to say much about that, but there are other options, there are both worse and better options. I find his decision somewhat peculiar, though. And some rasied eybrowses on my behalf, they are almost flying off.

This is a point that has been addressed repeatedly in this thread.  Instead of joining the discussion, however, you chose to accuse Brian of using this thread (and by extension Tom and Eric's nuptials) as a spotlight on his progressiveness.  Nothing could be further from the truth, just a I do not believe your statement (quoted above) is your way of establishing how progressive you are.  Unless you are telling us that you have used Tom and Eric's wedding to show how open minded or progressive you are (which again, I don't think you are doing).  Do you recognize how insulting your assumption and accusation is?

In your post, you mention the couple by name twice if we include their nuptials, but your real concern is the possible insult of completely different person. They appear there still as some kind of tools, let's say to pinpoint my agenda then so I don't insult you. Before that the real worry was the decay of the world or something, by another poster. I feel bad if he is insulted, I apologize here and now to him. Let's say that I, to quote you,  have used Tom and Eric's wedding to show how open minded or progressive [I am].

I have no allegiance to that newspaper or it's forum. To assume and state such without something like...oh I don't know...

"Hey Brian, do you work for that newspaper?"

....is unfair.

I'm sorry for contributing to your headache, Moyer.....I truly am.

as well...

Lars:

I am totally lost by your point, if in fact there still is one.  All that I can draw from it is what an unnamed Canadian* put forth earlier -- that you think this thread should only be a congratulatory thread.  I respectfully disagree.  What I would offer is this: if discussion apart from congratulating the unnamed** couple is desired by said unnamed couple I will cease any unrelated conversation in this thread.  So accordingly, I ask the unnamed member of the couple who started this thread whether the unnamed couple would like us to cease conversation unrelated to congratulating them.***

*Edited to remove reference by name to a Canadian participant so as not to create any unfair inferences.

**Used to avoid actual names so as to avoid unintended offense.

***Edited to remove any reference to gender so as not to use the unnamed couple for any agenda.
