Wait. What's disturbing about wanting to bone albinos?

Oh. Right. Hagerman.

Gee, maybe this part of an earlier post should have been deleted from this thread.....

I've just been trying to figure out a way to phrase my congratulations and good wishes without coming across as endorsing something in which I do not believe or risking this happy thread degenerating into an argument.

Nice backhanded slap there, don't you think?

Come on, Lars...lighten up. Don't infer crap when there isn't any intended.

My Mom taught me if you can't say something nice, tell the other person to go fuck themselves.*

*Actually she said "say nothing at all" but my advice is funnier.

Well, Brian, I would even go as far as saying that your post wasn't that hard to actually "mindread" given your posts throughout the thread so far... And I'm still having a wee bit of a hard time seeing what it was that set Lars off.

Um, have you been following the entire thread, Lars? It's not like we haven't been touching upon these matters (though not specifically with Ellen and Portia at the centre) before this. And it's not like Tom has thrown a fit about such things.

And I have to say that Brian's post in a thread celebrating a gay marriage makes absolute sense, given that there's just as much reason to celebrate Ellen and Portia's, and the people spreading vile bile in thick layers on the forum of Brian's local paper would probably feel the same way about our celebration over here as well. So I can certainly understand Brian's sharing this rather sad proof of the state of the world in far too many places (and people).

Geoff, I agree, yours is funnier, but I have a sneaking suspicion your mum's version may be more prudent in more cases. ;)

Seriously though, guys (gays and straights alike – and gals included), we're on page 51 now, and the love just keeps flowing! Wohoa!

Thats why its the one I follow . . . . I would never follow my own advice!

Well, as the person who resurrected this thread to ask if Spock would be attending Sulu's gay wedding, I must say that I have no friggin' idea what any of the last few comments are trying to say!

It's probably best just to go with that, Albert.

I do not question your good intentions.

Is that good? I want to see the day when a gay marriage is followed by normal best wishes and the corny stuff that you see when it's about a straight wedding only.

and the people spreading vile bile in thick layers on the forum of Brian's local paper would probably feel the same way about our celebration over here as well. So I can certainly understand Brian's sharing this rather sad proof of the state of the world in far too many places (and people).

I would never come up with the second sentence there beginning with So..., based on the premises in your first sentence. It's based on an idea that you want to change them, want to create some kind of utopia (the world/places/people?), I don't understand it. I only see that you don't only want to put the celebreties at risk, but want it expanded further.

That's pretty much what we've got happening here, isn't it?

Or are you just upset that we all didn't just stop in, say nothing more than
"congratulations" to the happy couple and let this thread die months ago?

Brian:
