Nice addition Steve!

Is that a 1971 version of Guardian/Vindicator?

John can explain this drawing best, but the character over his left shoulder (viewers right) is a character I created called "The Mercenary" which John drew.  The main little sketch of the character was given to John and he went from that for the story.  The original drawing of The Mercenary was done by Steve Fabian.

We have long ago fallen out of touch...and it's possibly a touchy subject for me (let's just say I had some problems back then) to go into depth about but I'd like to talk with John.

I recognize a few of the characters. I especially like JB's self portrait. Very nice, and considering it's vintage, even more impressive.

I'm not sure who gets the award for best batting average for posting some awesome JB art in ratio to number of total posts but John Papandrea is leading because I'm a sucker for OMAC. (Although Frank Katzman closed in with one of my favorite pieces, the X-Men chromium cover.)

And a thanks to all of you who have posted, keep that JB sweetness coming!

Thanks again Frank!

Hey - can anyone identify all of the owners of the boots in the first pic Frank just posted?  I recognize Dr. Doom and Magneto, and the others all look familiar, but who are they...?

Well, considering that the picture is from the Acts of Vengeance Crossover one could conclude it  would be (starting on the left and moving counterclockwise) Kingpin, Red Skull, Mandarin, ?, Wizard, ?, Dr. Doom, and Magneto.  I indicated two question marks where I didn't know whose boots they were although one of them should belong to Loki.  That still leaves us with one unknown set of boots.  They could also belong to Immortus?  Maybe one of the villians carries extras for those long extradimensional trips?

Kingpin, Red Skull, Mandarin, Ultron, Wizard, Scorpion, Doctor Doom, Magneto.
