Paul,no offense. I was responding to words in your post to the implied effect (presumably my mistake) that Steranko has nothing to offer current comics, lacking innovation in today's context, that he doesn't have the impact and is thus an anachronism. I think I jumped the gun, as you're talking about Steranko's current status as a comic book artist, which he isn't, and him being just as innovative, just not in comics.

Mea culpa, sir.

"Moy" is Albert Moy, a collector.

I'll say it again, Steranko's HULK just look too "regular big, muscle guy" to me.

Don't know if JB chimed in here, but it looks like Steranko definitely influenced him at least once:

Steranko's Hulk looks very similar to Marie Severin's version, which would have been the model at the time of that cover.  I really like her version, though I also really like the Sal Buscema version which is totally different.

Just curious, what's your definitive Hulk?

you know, Chad, i think you and i both agree on the many positives Jim Steranko brought to comics and i think we both would like to see him come back.

to anyone:

if JS did decide he wanted to come back for another stint in comics, what one current regularly published title would you like to see him take on?

as much as i'd love to see JS on so many other characters he has never done, like Mike up above, my fondness for Captain America 110, 111 and 113 just makes me drool for a 6 or 8 issue continuation of that storyline.

Well, I'd die for an ongoing THE SHADOW series, but Steranko has probably gotten that out of his system.

Considering his style and what seems to float him though, I'd use Zeus power to fit him on one of these characters:

Period MANHUNTER comic , or Paul Kirk from the 1950s in some other time period besides his own, but still a 1950s persona.

   CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN

  BLACKHAWK

LOBSTER JOHNSON, with a script by Mignola.
