I agree whole heartedly.  If the Harley Quinn I was dumb enough to purchase would have said "after Terry Dodson" on it I wouldn't have as much aof a problem with it.  But he doesn't do that.  He just steals from others and he has my money now.  Fortunately I only paid around $60 for the piece.  Anyone in the forum know this hack and can forward him the link to this thread?  He should at least have the guts to defend himself if he thinks he can.  But he would probably just ignore it and keep doing what he's doing.  I wish there were a way to warn those on Ebay that might bid on these ripoffs to avoid them.

I don't even know that advertising it as a recreation would work for me.  At least in a recreation, someone would supposedly look at the original and draw their take freehand.

There is absolutely nothing about those drawings that show that Ray created them.  They look like they are completely traced line for line and weight for weight.  He may as well be creating them by lithography and selling them as his originals.

lately, with the Iron Man movie out, it appears Bob Layton's art has been the biggest target..i believe Dave has contacted Bob about it, but honestly, Bob doesn't have any need to do anything about it.

You have a very valid point imo James.  I would scan my purchase but enough of these ripoffs have been scanned that I think everyone gets the point. As I said, you would swear Terry Dodson did mine.  Ridiculous. Anyone know if this guy has gotten any comics work lately?

Bob Layton could be out some potential money, in that someone might buy a rip-off from Kryssing instead of commissioning Layton to do an original piece for him. So I can't imagine why he wouldn't want to stop this guy.

While agreeing with pretty much all of the opinions that feel this guy is stealing, the most telling thing about him, to me, is that he called Iron Man's armor red & white.  For some reason, his lack of comic knowledge makes everything he's doing that much more despicable.  I could cut the smallest of slack to a comic geek doing this but he seems to just be a guy trying to make a buck the easy way.

I went to school with Ray Kryssing at the Joe Kubert school in '89-'92

This is typical stuff for him. He pawned off swipes as assignments in class all the time.

You guys have his character pegged to a 'T'

Eric,

That insight makes this even more interesting I think.

My Layton Iron Man is most definitely inked, as is Dave's.  Bob does his commissions as JB does, fully inked.

Andy, not to defend Kryssing, but there was a red and white Iron Man.

Wow...  Just did a Google search for "Ray Kryssing" and the second entry that pops up after his website is this very thread!
