Uh... He did a better job filling in the shadow below Iron Man than Layton did...

Layton drew a better shadow though...

*Shakes head in disbelief*

There are different kinds of inkers. Terry Austin has long defined himself
as a "tracer". In his case, it means utmost fidelity to the pencils.

I always thought an inker traced, a finisher added the finishing touches to
the art.

It would be a shame if this discouraged people from sharing their commissions on sites like here and comicartfans

That's a very good point Joe. If and when I get around to requesting a JB commision, then this sort of thing would give me pause before allowing it to be viewed on here.

I've been on ebay a few times and seen copies of some of my character poses. I'm astounded that in many instances it is unclear from the listing that the piece wasn't drawn by John

I've even seen art prints of some of my commissions on ebay(not John's). In those instances it was the artist's dealer who said the artist asked him to sell prints. What about me I asked? You're just the customer he said. Not any more

Dave
You should have been asked before that tracing was done

Holy, Dave, that is nearly 100% identical to yours!  I'm not sure if one image is smaller than the other, but the only difference I could see (other than the shadow being darker) is that the helmet is a touch smaller in the copy.  I definitely hope there's some sort of legal recourse that can be taken here.....
