I remember Paul Levitz telling me that the issue of Superman with the Williamson inks shot up ten points over the normal sales for that book for some reason. I believe I also plotted the story inside, which was reworked by Paul Kupperberg at Julie Schwartz's request (not enough fantasy elements).

That Marvel Team-Up doesn't ring a bell, but maybe. Is it signed?

I'm not  sure why they had Paris Cullins redraw that Viking cover.

Ed, thanks for a ton of great covers!

It was already mentioned how many of them made the reader want to buy the comic and see what was inside. In a sense, the cover was, figuratively, (and sometimes literally!), a 'billboard' that grabbed the attention!

A great mix of some 'heroic poses'(especially that BATMAN 368 pic), and classic 'hero abot to get his ass kicked' shots, particularly the Spider-man covers.

(Too bad there were no DC-Marvel crossovers after the early 80s...I think a JB/Hannigan Batman-Spider-Man meeting would have looked pretty cool!)

Not signed, but I checked with two other sites, and they credit you. It could
be that they also took as reference GCD...

I don't understand why they rejected that cover. Maybe the bird was too
small? No room for code bar?

That Avengers #223 cover is just awesome!  So awesome in fact, that they made a Hawkeye action figure with Ant-Man on one of the arrows!

It's possible that something happened to the Viking cover....temporarily lost in transit or something, that prevented them from using it. Who knows? There is always  a lot of art moving around the offices at any given time.

Looking at all those covers I can't help but notice that I was lucky enough to get some really good inkers supporting the pencils. John Byrne, Giordano, Klaus, Milgrom, etc. all "saved" me.

Very modest, but I don't think your art ever needed saving.  Yes, great people inked your work, but without what was underneath they'd have nothing to work from.  Looking over these covers from the heart of my biggest buying days, they bring back a rush of memories...all great.
