Are there any good English-language comics currently published exclusively in Europe? I admit, I know little about the European comics scene.

There a few Irish and British ones, Bruce. The Irish comic scene is bigger than I thought.

Two I read are:

Freakshow - it's like a whacky Scooby Doo but its set in the 1950s and all the bad guys are real

Atomic Rocket Group 66 - a 1950s superhero sci-fi adventure.

Got the new Blake & Mortimer, Stéphane?

We got a simultaneous release here in Portugal and I would like to know what you thought of it. This has been the best selling book (ALL genres!) in the big FNAC chain here for two weeks in a row, an amazing feat for a comic in Portugal!

Here is a preview (in french, bien sûr):

Those pages look great.  I wish I could read the language.  What's the concept of the book?

I received the Spirou and Fantasio adventure " Le tombeau des Champignac " ( The Champignac's Tomb... Champignac is the family name of the scientist in the comics ). It is really nice and some scenes or dialogues are quite audacious considering the supposed target audience.

It is by fabrice Tarrin ( http://www.fabricetarrin.com/?id=scenar&sce=14 ). You can see a lot of pencilled stuff. It is what we call the French-Belgian style.

I am loving it. It has a lot of respect for the original essence of the series.

This thread reminded me: Whatever happened to the Claremont X-Men project that was going to be drawn by Milo Manara?
