"I liked #2 better as well. You're showing improvement as you go, Wayne.
It will be interesting to see how the whole thing ties together.
Question, was there a reason that you had credits on the inside cover,
and a credit block on page two?"
Thanks, Dave. I think a lot of it had to do with realizing I had 5 more
issues to build a story around. But I didn't know that when I did the first
one.
Credit block is just a habit I guess. Honestly, I just didn't think about it
being on the inside cover. It doesn't feel like a comic book without a
credit box.

#2 seemed to have a lot more going on visually. A nice showcase of FX's powers, and the addition of the "sidekick" was nice.
Only one bit of constructive criticism--to me, some of the dialog comes off as a little stilted. Understandable, being new at the comic writing game, so I'm sure it'll improve over time. For example, I was expecting the villain at the end so say something quotable and badass, but it just ended up falling a little flat for me. However, the kid-speak is right on, which is something a lot of modern writers have a hard time capturing.

#2 is definitely better, and #1 was already very good. The first five pages of #2 especially were a great thrill! I mean, in particular, Wayne's writing. Nice!
JB's art? Duh -- GREAT!

Corey,
Thanks very much for the compliments and the input. I will keep it in mind.
Next time, I'll definitely try for something "badass".

Amen to that. Especially if it's a superhero book. Which of course FX is. And old school at that.
Just looking at the photo of the comic (showing the front) which Jodi was kind enough to post just clicks for me. Even more so than when I saw the image posted before. And not just because of the colour, but because it fits the comics front cover format like a glove! That IS a proper cover for a superhero comic. And that seems to be a rarity these days, sadly.

Yo, just got my FX #2 yesterday and loving it! On a side note, my LCS guy had a copy of FX #2 in my file going for $10.00. There were none left on the comic shelf (I don't know how many he ordered) but he said that this copy was a Variant Incentive retailer copy or something. Anyways the cover doesn't look different than what Jodi posted and he said he was getting more FX#2's next week but I was just wondering if I got over charged or something. Not sure but I had to have issue #2 and couldn't wait another week for
more issues to show up.

There are no variant covers - you need a refund. I asked Chris about it and
he said the only incentive was order 10 and get one free but there is not a
different cover for the "free" one.

Cool, thanks Wayne, no problem. I am also going to get an extra one when my LCS guy gets more next week.

After my comic shop did not pull a copy for me (and then sold out), I went to two different stores today -- and both were also sold out. I'm going to have to get a copy on reorder next week. But selling out is a good thing, so long as the shops are not underordering by initially ordering only a handful of copies.
