I've got a few Half-Hitch strips done by Hank Ketcham('s studio) in the
1970s. Great design work, sharp Dennis the Menace-style inking, and I
picked them up dirt cheap, too.

Paul, I've been trying to mail you that thing for three years. Every time I start to do it I get sidetracked.

Just give me your address. I can get in the car today and pick it up by tomorrow. I'll save you the cost of a stamp.

Oh Paul...contact with another human would be so nice....but alas, here at the.....um....institute, they don't let me have "outside" visitors. They used to, but after the Simko/O'Brien incident, it's just not allowed.

A Dick Calkins Buck Rogers!?!?! I am so jealous right now. I'd give my eye
teeth for one of those.

Even that wouldn't be enough for a Calkin Buck Rogers and besides what
would I do with your eye teeth? They would look loosy framed. Dick's art is
very rare because he destroyd most of it after he was fired from the strip.
There is a great article about what happened to Dick and his art up on the
CAF by George Hagenauer.

You're right about framing, Brian. Definitely more of a necklace item.
And it's heartbreaking what happened to both Dick and his art.
I had a great-uncle (more like a grandfather; he was like a father to my dad)
who had collected all the Buck Rogers and Alex Raymond Flash Gordons
together into scrapbooks since he was a kid. Cut 'em out of the paper so he
could re-read them as whole stories. (He was a bit before his time!) I loved
going to his house and reading those as a kid. Got me hooked on comics
and SF for life.
