Kudos, Mssrs. Byrne and Osborne!

I enjoyed everything about the issue except its length; a couple o' hundred
more pages would have been great! (Oh, and good call on adding that
limitation to Tom's abilities. I was a little worried about him being too
powerful.)

Nice work.  I got a little of the same vibe earlier this week reading my old E-Man reprints.  I'm very happy to see superheroes comics that don't feel needlessly complicated are still around.

Nice to see it comic sized and in color.  Greg did a great job on the colors and Workman's work speaks for itself.  Kudo's all around, I'll be getting the full six issues(of course)!

Great job, Wayne and John.  I have to admit I was a little skeptical about this project, but it's definitely a fun comic.  The pacing seems a little rushed in a few places, but that's really the only criticism I could level.  All in all, this is easily worth the $3.99 cover price -- and I'll be back for the next 5 issues!

Sam, it's been one HECTIC semester---- exactly how I don't know, since I only have one "real" class!

Er, what now? :)

Not sure when I'll get my hands on FX#1 but I can't wait to read it.

Picked it up yesterday at my LCS and really enjoyed it.  Outstanding origin story and of course, exceptional art as always by JB.  Looking forward to the other 5 issues!

Still very pleasing to look at I must say.

And don't you just LOVE that teaser for more, Andrew?

JB wrote (apropos of preferences to personalizing autographs):
"Yes. Tends to discourage the straight-to-eBay crowd."

Nice touch.
Personally I never understood the greatness of just having something that was signed as such, for me it's always been more about the experience of getting the something signed, and a personalised autograph emphasises that more.
Don't get me wrong, btw, it's not like I cry if I find a copy of something that's been signed (was quite content when finding a spare signed copy of Bowie's Heathen from when he'd been signing at a local store here in Göteborg), but I'd never pay extra to get the signed copy.

I read the book last night and I've got to congratulate Wayne on a good job.  I'm not blowing smoke up your butt when I say that it was one of the better written comics I've read in a while.  Your work may not have the polish of somebody like Mark Waid in the latest issue of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, but you wrote a fun, intelligible story with characters that acted like real people and not the stylized versions of people so common in  storytelling today.

Mike

With a fairly large collection of autographs hanging on my walls now --
Lincoln, Darwin, Neil Armstrong, etc -- plus several signed books, I have
been thinking it might be fun to start tracking down autographs of
famous people that were personalized to someone named "John".
Imagine the raised eyebrows when people perusing my collection find,
say, "To John, with highest regards, U.S. Grant". . .
