Finally got my Westfield shipment.

First issues are always kind of tough, but I think you did a good job introducing the main character and his world.  I'd say that I'd be picking up the next issue, but I had already pre-ordered it anyway.  So let me just say that I'm looking forward to reading the next issue.  Quite curious as to who supplied the costume, and why.

Wayne,

have the expectations in your mind for the book changed?

I'm not sure I understand your question, Joe. Are you talking about orders,
what I had hoped to get out of this, or about the experience of doing all
this?

Just read the first issue; enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Joe,

I didn't really know what to expect going into it.  Sure, I hope it will be a big success and spawn a movie franchise and all that - but I'm not gonna hold my breath 'til that happens either.  Bottom line: I had fun, got to work with my favorite comic book artist, and managed to create something with him that will be out there "forever".  So, for that, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world and would do it again in a heart beat.

That answer your question?

best,

WO

Wow... I remember when your goal was simply to write a story and have John Byrne draw it for you. I knew ya when, Mr. Fancy Pants.

Oh, don't misunderstand and think I have a movie deal pending or anything like that - I don't.  Not even being talked about.  That's just a pie-in-the-sky dream.

But I had a whole lot of fun either way.  That's for sure.

Wow, you heard it here first, folks. Movie deal and preproduction underway.

*Though I was just referring to your original goal, before your deal with IDW.*

Good news: I went to my LCS to pick up my comics, since today is the day they get the new books in and I happened to be in the area, and they not only got issue #1 in (finally), but they also got #2.

Haven't had time to read them yet, as I just got home about 10 minutes ago and am eating (a BMT form Subway) as I type this.
