Sorry I'm late....only just read it...

Wayne, JB, I loved it! here's some random thoughts.

What I liked:

The 'Marvel' cover.

Tom's dad - a very nicely written character.

The effects when FX does his effects. :)

Page 10 - loved the fun the two boys were having AND the first costume.

Pages 20-21 - nuff said.

All the little tidbits of the Wayniverse - Aegis Group, Homefront, Foundation etc.

Page 23 - cool!

Page 24 - even cooler!! Who is he? Whats his name? I like his little servant people.

Just to show some balance, here's what I liked a bit less:

The logo - not good IMO.

Some of the dialogue between Tom and Jack seemed a bit more worldy than I'd expect from kids that age.

Raye dating the Flash Thompson-type jock seemed a bit of a cliche.

Could've done with a bit more explanation about Silverback - the talking ape issue mentioned above in the thread.

Other than that - bravo! I was, like others, a little sceptical at first. After all, having lots of money doesn't necessarily mean you can write comics but this issue shows you can! Well done Wayne, you must be so proud!

Wayne ---

Is it possible to do a special "newsprint" run of issue #1 ?

I would definitely buy it as I'm sure many here would, too.  Maybe get the colorist to tweek the colors to give it that old-style print look, too -- with little dots of color.   That would be awesome.

"FX - Old School Edition".

LOL

I think the Old School Edition would be cool.  It loses something at a small size, so here is actual comic size snippit to give you the idea.

...you tease !!

I think a limited print run, perhaps based and priced solely on advanced orders might be fun.   I'd have to think that a couple hundred would sell just through the JBF.

I can feel the newsprint in my hands now...yummy!

The art was mostly really good, and I did smile at the "Six Million Dollar Man" sound effect part, but I was generally underwhelmed by the story itself.  Because of the Byrne art, I'll stick around at least 2 more issues...hopefully, I'll get as excited about it as everyone else here was.

Wayne, I finally got my copy today. I really enjoyed it. Loved the costume design and of course all the action sequences. Was wondering if we will be seeing any other heroes from this new universe of yours?
