Finally read it and I enjoyed it.  Very fun comic Wayne and the superpower is super cool.  The art was fantastic!   Interesting choice using some unknown artist for the pencils!

Got my two copies of FX #1 and am loving it!
Love that knock out punch given to the Savage Silverback!
Question: can we speculate on what we think is happening or would that be divulging too many spoilers on this thread?

I picked up FX on Saturday. I thought it was really good for a first issue (I tend to like comics better after a few issues give the characters a chance to grow on me). It really felt like it was a good All-Ages comic, suitable for kids without being childish.

My local comic book store keeps a display rack on the checkout counter that holds six comics. They put comics there that they think are really good and that they think their customers should check out. FX #1 was in a prominent position on that rack.

Joe: "Did you consider having a "Hello, I'm Wayne Osborne" letter to the readers in the first issue?"

Yeah, in hindsight that probably would have a been a good idea.  I gave an interview or two to get that story out there but doing something in the book itself would have done a better job of that.

Corey: "I can think of no higher endorsement than that!"

Me neither!  I'm glad you and your daughter enjoyed it.

Joe: "Another question for Wayne...how old is Tom supposed to be?  I'm guessing 14 from the context of the first issue."

Yeah, 14 seems about right.  I never really thought of a hard number but 14 feels right to me.

Laren: "Question for Wayne about Silverback.  Was he actually a talking  gorilla?"

Yes, he is.  That seems to be one of the things that people wonder the most about - even when I sent out the first ashcans, people weren't clear on that.  I guess I wrote that better in my head than I did on paper - but yeah, he talks.  I didn't really want to give to much away about him because there's a story arc I have in mind to tell his history and answer some of the other questions about him.

Steven and Ray: "I think I'd have liked some narration at times to slow down the pace in
certain places."
-----
I suspect if I were paying for a project like this out of my own pocket,
slowing things down would be a luxury I would have to think more than
twice about."

Steven, I understand what you're saying but Ray got pretty close in his answer.  This might be my only shot at getting a comic on the stands and I wanted to throw everything in there that I could.  There's not a lot of decompression to be found in the six issues.  If anything, I worried that I might be throwing too much in each issue.  But JB helped a lot in making it all work out in 24 pages an issue.

Ray: "hopefully a storyline or two that will feature appearances by the Foundation or Homefront"

Stay tuned!

Hunter: "Question: can we speculate on what we think is happening or would that be divulging too many spoilers on this thread?"

It's okay with me but I'm not promising to tell you if you get it right or not.

And to everyone else who chimed in with kind words and good thoughts - thank you very much!  I really appreciate the support and advice.

Best,

WO

Wayne-Thank you!

My thoughts-I believe that another experienced character with FX's powers gave them to Tom. The reason I think this
is when the skull man at the end of the issue mentions 'this is unexpected' after looking at FX flying. I get the
feeling that he recognizes FX's powers.
Now as to the costume being mailed by the mysterious Aegis Group. Not sure, but maybe they work with the original wielder of the power and Tom was picked as a successor a while ago. Due to an unexpected emergency-i.e.( the first wielder of the power being mortally wounded or imprisoned) this group was getting ready to approach Tom but saw what he did on TV against The Savage Silverback decided to stay in the shadows and just mail him his preordained costume.

Maybe they are worried about showing up to early to draw the skull man's attention not sure.

Anyway it is fun to speculate. It doesn't matter to me if I am right or wrong, what matters is I am enjoying this book!

Hunter - I hope you noticed that little tasty morsel of sneak preview on a coloured page posted recently (can't remember which thread, sorry) which featured what seemed to be the beginning of a showdown between FX/Tom and the nasty skull man. Me, I just loved seeing that li'l bit. :)

Finally found a copy at the 4th comic shop I visited! The guy at the counter said that sales had been good and a bunch of people put it on their pull list after reading the first issue. That bodes well!

Hunter,

I can tell you that there have been no past FX's. But there is some history in
play though. Keep reading.

picked up the last copy from my LCS...Thanks to WO and JB for making me feel like I was twelve all over again...

This is exactly what I'm looking for in a comic...WO if this proves to be successful do plan on keeping FX going?  Or even better expanding your titles?
