Wow - I really liked this issue. The art looks great, the colors were superb, and the story was fun.
Cheers to all involved - we need as much of this stuff on the racks as we can get.

My LCS sold out and my comps have not arrived. I want to hold one in my hands! My parents are coming over Sunday and I want to give them one - Lord knows they gave me enough comics when I was growing up!

Just picked it up myself...nice work Wayne (and JB, of course). Very cool idea/concept and I really liked the possibilities the costume mystery and the first appearance of the villain present at the end! My LCS was smart enough to order a good amount...

Wayne and John - I enjoyed FX #1 tremendously. It was like reading an old fashioned Marvel comic. I felt like a kid again. Count on me to be along for what I hope will be a long ride. Thanks!

The double splash of FX clobbering Silverback is fantastic.
Another question for Wayne...how old is Tom supposed to be? I'm guessing 14 from the context of the first issue.

Question for Wayne about Silverback. Was he actually a talking gorilla? Since his speech was pretty simple and no humans seemed to react directly to it, I took his words as a representation of his thoughts as he was going on his rampage...and guessed that the people present would have simply heard his words as grunts, roars, and growls . One of the reviews seemed to think he was talking in human speech however.
So will Silverback be a major character or just the local zoo attraction?
In any event, loved the whole first issue.

Laren - Without knowing WO's intentions or take on it, I'd have to agree with the reviewer in that I too got the impression that Silverback was capable of limited speech (it is a speech balloon rather than a thought balloon after all). And given the amount of armed police keeping him company during transfer, I'd put my money on a supervillain type than a "mere" rampaging gorilla. (And I wouldn't mind seeing Silverback again... there's just something about seeing JB drawn apes that makes me go giddy).
