I wonder why JB DIDN'T use this rule on Spider-Man Chapter One #1?

I don't know if you're joking or something, but I think you're mistaken. Here's that same image without Romita's rule:

HUH? Thats not JB.
Also, on that JB Chapter one page..note how the scalloping is drawn one way on one arm than the other...
Just curious the Artistic reasoning behind this...
If you are going to have such a 'rule' ,shouldnt it be a applied everywhere?

It is. The scalloping depends on whether the form is coming towards you or going away. Look at the boots on my pic. On one the webbing falls up, on the other down. Ditko hadn't worked this out on his first cover, but it's a rule for a reason - it looks much better when you follow it, real-world logic and reason be damned.

He's getting better all the time, SAD. Why, so am I, which is why I opened this thread you are trying to derail. I have gained a lot of good insights on the Spider-Man costume. Now, leave us alone to have an adult discussion, please.

You should take some time to understand the rule before you start campaigning against it.

Derail? Arent we still talking about drawing Spider-Mans costume?
You dont think I'm having an adult conversation...?
..oh and HARDLY campaigning against it..Just trying to see why its done THAT way.. As to the direction of the scalloping in that JB page up above,if it is amatter of direction then why is the upper side of his hand drawn differently than his forearm...? To me, it all comes down to Artistic license..if you want to draw it that way..COOL! I dont think theres a right OR a wrong way. Just the way each Artist wants to do it.
Anyway, let you 'adults' talk amongst yourselves...<rolls eyes>

Stephen, you seem to be purposely missing the point on this, but giving you the benefit of the doubt: It comes down to "how to draw it like John Romita."

Mark, not missing the point..just dont UNDERSTAND the WHY of it..except to do it , as you say, Like Romita.
Which is fine.
When Artists DONT follow this rule, it looks JUST as 'correct' to me.
Thats all.
