Minor oddity -- my copy for the cover said "…she's a NICE lady".
Never did find out if the change was deliberate.
(Aurora miscolored again, of course!)

Another miss-colored cover that drives me crazy. I took a lot of ribbing from some of my fellow comic collecting buddies on the school bus because of this issue. One was an Avengers fan, the other a fan of the X-Men, and we used to debate which team and book was better. Their trump card was " the Avengers have Kang and Ultron for villains. The X-Men have Magneto. Alpha Flight has Pink Pearl." My response was that the X-Men also had Toad.
Box is such a great character with so much untapped potential.

JB, I have this page, the first time we get a glimpse of Aurora's new costume. Did you feel the need to leave such discriptive comments (about the costume) after this? Seems like they are needed every issue (see the JLA thread, Heather Hudson colored blonde and redheaded on the same page, etc).

…Alpha Flight has Pink Pearl…
••
And they all went on to become regular posters on the internet.Of all the negative quirks of fandom, this is perhaps the one that bugs me the most -- ignoring the bulk of a work in order to single out one example to support their cause. As when Chris and I did the JLA arc a few years back, and the message boards were abuzz with how this would be "Dark Faith". Because, you know, as plotter on that story, all I have done in the past thirty years is recycle Dark Phoenix. (Same with WONDER WOMAN -- "This will just be warmed over She-Hulk!" Yes, because She-Hulk is the only female character I have ever written.) And, of course, there's never an "Oops! My bad!" retraction to any of this crap, is there?

Great issue...Pink Pearl a weird character....
Questions:
- On page 2, When Jean Paul is talking with Jeanie-Marie, someone is looking at them from the Kitchen... is that Maurice?
- This one is gonna sound wrong to ask, but...Is Clementine a lesbian friend or a trans?

1. It's Northstar's boyfriend.
2. She's Northstar's boyfriend's girlfriend.

Was "Pink Pearl" named after the brand of pink rubber erasers?
Years ago I had a "Boston Brand" pencil sharpener and I always assumed that
that's when Deadman's real name came from.
Maybe someday somebody can form a team of characters named after art
supplies...

It's a pretty typical reaction though. Fans go by what they know. I can
recall all of the predictions about "True Brit" which all revolved around
variations of existing Monty Python sketches--as though all John Cleese
ever did was recycle the same material over and over again.

Out of all of Mr Byrne body of work, Alpha Flight is the one that didn't
appeal to me.
I tried for a while but I never could find enough interest to continue reading
it.

What a great cover! Oh, and I love the Stan Lee-style credits box.
